Isn't it the only solution other than hoping a company pays for the whole stadium in return for naming rights? Especially as Mr Henry notes that it will be hard to get any significant returns in the short term
Actually this going to happen. It makes me laugh; my generation will not let it happen but we'll be dead or at least meaningless in 10 years time. Young'uns theses days? Would take a 70000 stadium on a share because the owners said its the only way to do it; the council loved it & the blue boys hoped it saved them. All ...NO. For both clubs sake.
Back in 2003 Everton bigged up a move to The Kings Dock and when it came to putting up their share of the cost they admitted they couldn't afford it and the scheme died. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/e/everton/2940481.stm Since then they've had no major investment and they have the same owner(Bill Kenwright),they are as skint now as they were then. Strange how David Moyes does'nt mention EFC paying into a shared stadium. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/ever...pool-fc-would-be-a-good-move-100252-31236560/
What it does PMK! Groundshare? **** that would help Everton more than us, but then again wouldnt mind that rivalry getting a heavy kick start again
IF this were ever to come about then it has to be co-ownership and not ground-share. There is no benefit for LFC in a sharing proposal as none of the risk/costs are shared.
well there are three models. 1. lfc own it and charge everton rent per game which offsets our costs to build 2. both clubs own it. 3. the city owns it and btoh clubs pay the city rent. Perosnally whichever way you cut it the single most vital fact that cannot be avoided is the state of the pitch at the san siro where two of the wolrds best clubs play... it is always poor enough simply becuase there's too many games played. we want the best possible pitch.
For me it wouldn't be worth it unless we got a 90-100,000 capacity stadium. That might be worth it. Anything smaller than that...do one!
You've got more chance of banging Thatcher plus you're both evil blues who's best days are stuck forever in the '80s
Considering the latest frauds we have as owners are never going to build it (at least they're honest about it) I think it's the only option. Talking of how it will benefit everton (and it will) is getting as bitter as them. I'd prefer something on the waterfront north of the Pier Head. Won't happen though.
Our stadium would be slightly taller to cast a shadow over the everton ground (they wouldn't have it any other way)
Isn't this a bit like Rochdale saying the best course of action for both teams would be to agree to a groundshare with Manchester United? They've taken the liberty of agreeing to an offer we haven't given them hahaha
Good god, can you imaging Everton games when they only get a maximum of forty thousand But seriously, having a large stadium can kill the atmosphere if it is not filled, and even if it is filled it needs to be with the right people that create an atmosphere too
