really? I could've sworn I saw Kobay getting impeded a bit towards the end of one of his first flying laps, not sure who the car in front was though, so I just assumed it was der hulk.
I've watched qualifying again, this time onboard with Seb and I promise you that I cant hear that grumbling noise we heard last year with off throttling. I can't hear anything apart from a normal F1 engine doing its job like any other engine on the grid. I think Seb is making people crazy now that they start to hear off throttle noises when he starts to do well! I'll call it (Sebifingerobia) I can't hear any off-throttle blowing there...
I must admit I'm a bit mystified as to why he isn't particularly liked, if he doesn't do well he doesn't find a TV camera to whinge, whine and bitch into about his team, team-mate or the person he just smashed into through his own stupidity, or make up stories so everyone feels sorry for him, unlike his team-mate. He's pretty much always smiling, friendly, and I find some of his phrases hilarious. After Kamui he's probably my favourite. now the rose tinted specs have broken who're you supporting now manny? I'd like to slag them off just so you feel comfortable
Seb needs to keep ahead of Lewis and Maldonado tomorrow to beat those Lotus' as their top speed is poor like RBR was in Canada. If he can pull away like in 2011 Lewis and Pastor will do the rest and slow down Grojsean and Kimi for at least a stop. Having Lewis that high up could be a blessing in disguise yet a problem if he can keep in touch.
Everyone seems to think Lotus are the major threat here, LH singled them out as the one's to watch tomorrow, weird, you'd think he'd be focused on trying to beat Vettel.
Tomorrow I expect it to be something like: Grosjean Vettel Raikkonen Hamilton Alonso Button di Resta Massa Webber Rosberg . . . . Safety car . . . . clean up car . . . . tourists . . . . . Karthikeyan
Poor Narain. Also, i see you've gone for Grosjean. This is too similar to Spain, the Lotus' were electric on the high fuel runs in practice, yet only finished 3rd and 4th. I'd love to see Grosjean win at the circuit he made his debut at, but Hamilton is too strong IMO.
I'll be more than happy if Hamilton makes it to the podium but I think he's got a fight on his hands this weekend, I just dont have faith in the car. I think Grosjeans got the confidence after Canada to trust himself to push and I can see that Lotus looking after its tires for several more laps that those around them.
Is it worth a cheeky punt on Maldo winning? EDIT: Imagine if maldo does win, of all the drivers to become the 1st repeat winner of 2012, he would have been the last guy anyone would have picked.
Everyone seems to think Grosjean is going to win tomorrow despite Vettel being on pole position (which usually only ends one way)
he only used to win from pole all the time because he had the best car. if you look back to 2010 where the cars were closer together in the race compared to 2011, then you'll see that out of 10 pole positions, he only won 3 races from pole. with the cars much closer together this year it is no longer a foregone conclusion that when vettel starts from pole, he will win, just look at the last race.
There's something there. It's not nearly as bad as 2011 but there's something. Darren Heath heard off-throttle blowing from the Red Fools in Canada.
So for strategy, have Pirelli given their predictions? Is a one stop race possible? Hopefully it is, so Ferrari's and Webber can make something out of this weekend. For the start, I have a feeling Maldonado will hit Hamilton if he gets a good start, and Grosjean if he gets an average/poor start.
Last I heard it was 90% 2 stopper 10% 3 stopper. I think if anyone tries to 1 stop in this heat they'll be swamped in the last 10 laps, either if they're in a Sauber
