Just noticed Medicean Man in the race. He was 4th in the King's Stand on Tuesday so could be a good thing.
What challenge? Europe's best sprinter is a 7 furlong horse and the rest of them are either injured or didn't show up. The overwhelming view of UK sprinting is that it's weaker than in Australia so the challenge was never about a new set of sprinters who could have the ability to beat her because they've proven themselves to be a very average bunch. The challenge, if there was one, must surely have been around the travel, the new climate, the food in the UK, even different water. Now Ii'd presume that wasn't her best ever run and if the jockey had been more alert she'd have won by a length or so but even if that had happened it would represent a very disappointing showing. I can't overstate this point enough. Our sprinters are crap.
A nice return for the Irish there, with a bit of luck he would have had a tidy double at Royal Ascot with Jamsie just failing to get home yesterday. Oh well not to be today, good luck to those who play for the remainder of the day happy punting
Nice to see a big win for Pat Dobbs in the Wokingham. He is a decent Jockey as he proved for Richard Hannon earlier in the season when Richard Hughes was banned.
If I had a horse David Marnane would be a trainer I'd consider sending it to. Excellent young trainer.
"David - your horse ran a quicker time that Black Caviar" Marnane "let's not talk about that - I don't want him mentioned in the same breath as that Aussie donkey"
It's all right Quel - if someone has a different opinion to him it hurts his brain and his first instinct is to either threaten violence or chuck about casual insults.
Evening all just back from Footy I was very impressed with Black Caviar . He didn't even ride her out or really get in the drive and he still beat Moonlight Cloud who I really rate. Great racing
