True. There are plenty of bad antepost punters, but there are plenty of bad punters in general too. I actually think it can be very profitable if you do it well and can accept the inevitable disappointments of non-runners.
I've never bet antipost. Am i right in thinking if i was to do so and my horse was a non runner then I would lose my stake?
Two horses laid out for the meeting: 5.00 Ascot. Cill Rialaig. She had a pipe opener behind Sea Moon recently and has won twice from three starts at Ascot. On her last running there, she dwelt at the start and then got boxed in before finishing really well behind Dancing Rain in the Group 2 Champion Fillies Stakes at the Qipco Champions October meeting. She'll find this opposition much easier than Sea Moon and Dancing Rain and, having improved last year to a mark of 104, today's mark of 98 gives her a great chance. Best Price...16/1 Bet 365. 5.35 Ascot. Petara Bay. I had a good win on him on his last run at Goodwood- after finishing fast to be fourth in the Northumberland Plate. Not many horses in today's race are guaranteed to get the trip- nor boast his Class1/2 credentials . He runs well when fresh and, although his price has shortened overnight, he still represents good each way value. Best Price...12/1 Bet 365 Good punting, everybody!
I think Zuider Zee will win the jumpers, sorry stayers, race at Ascot. I like the look of Excelette in the 2.25 at Ayr and with 7s out there I think e/w is worth a bet. One at a price perhaps worth small ew stakes is Equation of Time just about to run in the 2.05 at Newmarket who drops down from listed class today and I think is 25/1.
Mick Channon does like these Sixties Icon's doesn't he? He seems to have aimed half the current crop of Juveniles at the Chesham today. Chilworth Icon can go close despite his penalty granted improvement from Epsom. Another horse that caught the eye at epsom and went into my notebook was Spanish Duke, who runs in the 1m4f Handicap at 5.00pm. 14/1 is a very fair price.
Anyone know much about Jakkalberry in the Hardwicke? Seems that it's been very heavily backed for the Melbourne Cup. Maybe it will run a big race at about 12-1.
Thair 5/1 in the first for me. Impressive last time out and runner up franked the form. Jalaa the danger. Good luck all.
Well that is no world beater Joe. That's why they won't be calling you Boris Thingme any more. I was going for that, being by New Approach but I let you convince me. That'll teach me.
