Too much wasted space in the corners and I don't like those white sticky up things. Pig-ugly building (sorry pigs) to start with - needed demolishing imo.
I like it. I'm sure it wont be everyone's cup of tea but there is no doubt it would become one of the world's most unique and recognisable footie stadiums. In terms of locations to, it's the best we can hope for without staying at S.B. I guess it's likely to be moot anyway. I understand our bid is a lot less than the consortiums.
That stadium looks stunning. I hope the other bid fails and we get Battersea Power Station. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...a-images-Battersea-Power-Station-stadium.html
Absolute ugly piece of **** when you pit it against the Allianz Arena or even the Femirates! Chimneys at a football stadium?????? The whole project is laughable. I wonder how much of RA's money Tweedle-Dee (Buck) & Tweedle-Dum (gourlay) wasted on this one? only in England would the Heritage society list 4 butt ugly chimneys and only in England would someone attempt to construct a brand new state of the art football stadium in the middle of an eyesore whilst allowing the most prominent feature(s) of said eyesore to become the focal point(s) of the stadium. absolute madness & the culprit responsible for coming up with this god-awful scheme needs shooting not commending!
I love the image of Battersea Power Station, it's part of my childhood memories. While I thought a stadium with all round seating would be our next step, that looks mustard to be honest...
I think that this view is the better one: http://www.douglasandgordon.com/images/landmarks/8e3f99f2-eab0-4a9e-9f36-abdf1fcfe508.jpg
No, but as a pitch owner, I'd like to see some less laughable schemes at a site people can commute to without the away fans laughing their nuts off at!
This site is obviously a very small sampling but you appear to be in a minority. Not sure what you're on about re away fans.
Because the scheme looks ridiculous to me as I've already explained a football stadium with 4 butt ugly chimneys as a focal point?????? I realise I seem to be in the minority but I think it looks like **** and the away fans will have a field day with the godawful eyesore!
I think it looks incredible. Chelsea want to keep the square style stadium so that it doesn't take too much away from our beloved bridge. Keeping the Battersea chimneys is a must, its a iconic building and could be iconic for Chelsea in the long run.. I can already see a giant chelsea flag being stretched across the tierless end before each game http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/06/22/article-2163169-13BC42CB000005DC-504_964x532.jpg
Shame we lost out on the site to the Malaysian. Even if they fail we don't know that we were 2nd choice as there were 20+ bids I believe. Still, maybe whoever gets it we could become part of the project.
Whoever takes the site over will have nothing but aggravation. I’ve worked in that place for years on and off, and the main reason it has never been developed is simple.........The place ready to ****ing fall down. I’ve been involved in Demolition and Asbestos removal projects in there for over 30yrs and have witnessed structural engineers from as far and as Japan, Australia, and America leave there crying after their ideas were dismissed by the BH. (Which is kind of strange as the ideas which were dismissed were OK’d by them at previous bidding stages) Make no mistake that ****hole will remain empty until it falls into the Thames and while I think it would be an amazing stadium, second to none I was relieved when the clubs bid was rejected
