Lap times on high fuel. I think all the guys were on soft tyres, apart from Alonso. Hamilton didn't do any high fuel runs. Grosjean was just as quick as his teammate. Lewis says that Mclaren got it wrong today? http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/news/12479/7835543/Hamilton-We-got-it-wrong Hope both he and Button get it sorted soon.
Legard. Got a good about Vettel this weekend, hopefully Alonso's 43's are a result of low fuel. I hope the hotter weather on Sunday propels Lotus to the front.
Vettel's lead all but one one lap of the last 2 races in Valencia apparently, must like it there Can't see past Vettel or the Lotus' tbh, Alonso will probably nick 3rd.
sea man predicted this would happen. basically theyve made changes to help button, but its hindered lewis, and now both are too slow. rather than focusing on trying to make button quicker, they should focus on winning the championship.
From what i gather they changed Buttons setup to match Lewis's. Any changes Lewis or his engineers made are there fault, they just had a bad friday. Hardly rare for that to happen to a driver, Just your overreative and willingliss to try and link all problems to Button and Whitmarsh. I mean seriously you think they should just be happy that Buttons struggling and leave him to it? You'd make a great team boss.
Driver reaction from practice: http://bcove.me/daiad30t Interesting that Vettel said he might be lighter.
this is what jenson said after p2. "We're going to go back on a few things that we've changed through the session, to a car set-up that we know felt comfortable, but it's difficult to be consistent because of that front locking. so in other words they are going back to a car button felt comfortable in earlier in the season, but that is just going backwards, and itll probably end up ruining mclarens season. they should focus on lewis's set up and build on that instead.
Hmm, they did say they were going to converge Hamiltons set up with Buttons, which I assume they have done and now as predicted its wrong.
Red Bull still look to be adjusting a few things on the car to see what the race pace is like, though it should be hotter in FP3 so the data there would be more important to focus on rather than today. More or less looking for a balance of speed and tyre preservation I reckon with these upgrades. Jenson might be off the pace on most teams but he is looking better than Lewis on race pace and qualifying so far. Alonso looks about the same as Seb with race pace but might be holding back more because he is trying to take care of his tyres more than what RBR were doing today, so I think Alonso will be up there this weekend. Lotus are the real threat though, doing solid 1:44's and going long with them, they look the best on race pace. Mercedes look to be on the same race pace as both Red Bull and Ferrari. Sauber Williams and Force India are definitely up there with RBR, Ferrari and Mercedes on race pace. Order of race pace for me in my opinion: Lotus>>>>Ferrari=RBR=Sauber=Mercedes=Force India=Williams>>>>>McLaren
Hmmmmm, I'm not so sure with Seb leading into Silverstone. Seb did seem a bit wary of these upgrades working, qualifying looks like it's there, but I dont think he's entirely convinced the race pace is there after looking at his body language on the video above. Mercedes and Lotus seemed happier than Red Bull it looked and I can tell Lewis is looking worried, was avoiding eye contact quite a lot. Maybe Seb will end up in front of Alonso this weekend, but the gap wont be over 5 points that's for sure. I think the win is already out of the question and it's likely to be Grojsean, unless he has one of his stupid moments again.
