If I were a Celtic fan (god forbid) I'd be 100% beelin' if Celtic FC voted yes. Sames goes for Wiggy at Todders. 97% of Us Sheepies are against a newco in SPL. They should consider themselves lucky to start in Division Three. They should be starting at the very bottom in The Sunday Pub League.
Exactly, it's a load of ****e. The club needs to back the fans on this one, no matter what the financial ramifications of no Newco are. I'll be done with Scottish Football at all levels if Newco get in.
Totally agree with you. I know plenty of Rangers fans who are not averse to starting in the Third Division. If Celtic voite yes after all the pullaver about "integrity" then I would tell the club to get to ****, same as I'm saying for Aberdeen.
Not worried at all. The board has to do wants best for the shareholders. A newco in the spl is not in celtic's interest, not to the fans and not to the money men. Now aberdeen's boardroom shake up is like craig whytes shake up. Remove all those that don't toe the party line. I think milne is going to vote yes and was getting rid of those who opposed.
100% agree with that. Celtic have backed themselves against a wall here, the battles with the SFA over referee integrity and quality mean they can't then play a different hand when it might cost them some dosh. A huge majority of Celtic fans don't want Newco voted in, the club have "Football Without The Fans Is Nothing" printed on the home top. Is this just a bullshit sentiment or do they actually believe it?
I wish English Championship clubs had done the same when Leeds were in the **** and there was a vote. Elland road would now be a lovely little shopping complex and not a zoo.
As for Celtic/Lawell's decision to vote either way - I was talking to a guy last night after fives and he raised a decent point. What happens if Lawell comes out now and says he'll vote No? Backlasharama. Celtic announcing that they are going to vote No simply gives anyone canvassing for a Yes vote (Jabba or some other one-sided doomsayer) time to have a pantomime or perceived villain against which to rally. Celtic could abstain if it's possible. Rangers need 8 yes votes to get back in so an abstention is basically a No without pinning your flag to the mast. Lawell will wait until the last possible minute (or not at all) to announce what Celtic will do. And, TBH, it's the only sensible option - keep quiet about it in the run up then vote No to keep us onside. At least, that's what I reckon will happen - I've already paid for my season ticket/card this year in full but my dad pays in installments and is planning to withold later installments if Celtic vote Yes (I don't know how he'll do this but he has the email already drafted ). If Celtic vote Yes, and I ****ing mean this, I will be a supporter of another team - I have NEVER considered switching team and I never thought I would but if Celtic prove to think so little of my and other fans' input towards this, they don't deserve my support and they definitely don't deserve the money I save up every month in the joint savings account to buy my ticket. Like I said, I don't reckon it will come to this - Lawell won't say a word and then will either abstain or vote NO. If he does the latter, he's played a blinder in my opinion by not opening us up to potential criticism, not having a cheap pop at Rangers but still doing the right thing. On the last day of last season, the whole stadium sang "Vote no to a Newco" when Lawell came on the pitch - it was ****ing loud as well - it was still being sang in the section behind me (Jungle Bhoys) when they were doing the daft countdown on the big screens to getting the trophy. Celtic can't vote Yes. Well, they can, but after next season, they'll no see me, my dad, my daughters or anyone else in the middle of section 101 ever again. They might as well knock the top tier off the stadium if they vote Yes.
This You'd like to think the club is aware that this kind of sentiment is out there and they risk losing not only one generation of Celtic fans but many.
Can't see anything but a no vote. Celtic making millions out of the rivalry with rangers. They could hardly call themselves rivals if they vote to help rangers. The delay will be because they need shareholders approval first. Now considering Dermot isn't in it for the money and neither are the fans a no vote is certain. You're probably right in that they want to be seen to send them down.
Pendragon Legend. I agree, the worse thing Celtic can do now is announce they are going to vote no. In order that the newhunsutd are out voted the no votes need some of the traditionally pro Rangers clubs to vote no. Any announcement by Celtic will make it easy for them to revert to their former voting trends. Similarly and even more dangerous are threats from the CSA of boycotting certain clubs. We cannot bully people or supporters, least said the better. I think July4th will be a none event because Rangers fate will have been decided before that, at least for the next season or two.
Due to the transfer embargo Rangers will be playing 5 year olds next season and they're a bit worried that their parents will refuse to pay for their upbringing due top the shame of it all.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18556194 Scottish Premier League clubs will meet at Hampden on Thursday to discuss the implications of their Rangers 'newco' vote on 4 July. All clubs, except Rangers, are expected to gather for a pre-vote debate. Dundee United and Hearts have already publicly stated they will vote against allowing a new Rangers into the SPL. BBC Scotland has learned that Aberdeen will also say no to Charles Green's application for his relaunched Rangers to replace the old club. And Hibernian chairman Rod Petrie previously made it clear that commercial concerns were of secondary importance in relation to the integrity of the league. Kilmarnock are the latest club to say they will canvas supporter opinion following similar moves by Inverness, Motherwell and St Mirren. It is understood the SPL board will make recommendations on various outcomes and scenarios. Green's consortium, which bought Rangers' assets last week, needs the support of seven rival clubs when the SPL vote on the issue. Should Green's group not get the required 8-4 vote in their favour for top flight football, they would have to apply to fill the vacancy that would be created by a team being promoted from the Scottish Football League. Rangers Football Club plc entered administration in February over unpaid tax and Revenue and Customs' vote against a company voluntary arrangement proposal prompted the transfer of assets to Green's group and their attempts to replace the old Rangers in the SPL.
There is every chance that the new club will withdraw its application to transfer the league share from Rangers. They must know this will fail. The SFL have indicated they would welcome their application. This is an extremely generous offer. If they dont avail of it soon, the new club wont be playing any games at all.
