    Ranger doesn't appear to have the composure needed to be a top striker. I'm beginning to wonder whether midfield would suit him better.

    I hope you're joking, he was the best player on the pitch vs Stoke, and played very well against Wolves. He sub appearances have all brung an impact also. I will have to see more of him, but he's our 2nd choice LB at the end of the day, and Ranger will probably be our 5th choice striker next season.

    Composure will hopefully come with time, he's only 20 tomorrow and inexperienced at Premiership level.

    I was thinking the same thing, but things clearly weren't happening for us and Pardew left it far too late to make substitution.

    Well I'm on Bartons side! THE Joey Barton not Bartons Tash.

    And what I mean by that is during the game Barton turned round to Ranger raised his hands and yelled at the top of his lungs at Ranger for being nowhere when he was trying to do a through ball, making him pass back, he was obviously furious with Rangers performance as was Lover, because he done the exact same thing, he was a shambles up front. It really shows that we NEED a new striker or three. It's a disaster at the club atm.

    I'm sorry but i've never been a fan of Ranger, he's always looked like a young Shola/Heskey to me. Don't understand why anyone would want him starting again he has no composure in front of goal, he just doesn't look like a natural goal scorer and we really don't have many games to be giving him a chance. How long is Ameobi out for? because i'd play him as a lone striker with Nolan behind til the end of the season

    People seem to think I'm mostly angry at the lack of quality he produced today. No , absolutely not. He just didn't seem to care , walked around , no work rate and didn't make any effort what so ever. He doesn't appreciate what he has , always coming late to training , being a dick off the pitch and not giving a **** on the pitch.
