    agreed

I know most will hate me for saying this but we should be trying to follow the example Newcastle have set.

This time last year I'm sure most SAFC fans would of thought we would of finished above them and now the majority of fans know that they are a step ahead of us and it aint because they have spent loads of money its because they have gone for players with good technical ability and a football brain. We seem to play it safe and go for the average footballer that won't see the club go down but won't see us make a mark on the league just happy mediocrity as it seemed by Bruce's signings on a whole.

The three players we really gambled over have been McClean, Sess and Mignolet, players who could of easily came over to the premier league and not adapted but they are probably the first three names on the team sheet and we need to go down this route more often.

The people that are on here regular will see me banging on about we should be going after and 8 out of 10 times that player is a foreigner. I don't care if we sign 11players from England or Peru or France or wherever but as we know if you want a player that has some class about there game they cost a bomb if they are playing in the Prem and especially if they are English. Like Newcastle we should be looking overseas were the football is more about technical ability rather than average plodder who work hard and run all day.

good examples are Cabaye and Garndner both cost around the same and Wickham and Cisse around the same as well. Its a joke how Bruce spent the same amount on Gardner and Wickham as what Newcastle picked those two up for.

At the end of the day we all want to see Sunderland kick on and we have the right manager to do that but we need to be adventurous and take a risk if we want to see us cause an upset on the league like Newcastle did last season. The likes of Gardner, Andrews, Turner will never see SAFC cause an upset and I just hope MoN goes the way Newcastle have because he won't have the money like he did at Villa to go after the way better than average English players such as Young, Downing and Milner.

In my personal opinion, Sunderland fans are the ugliest, fattest, quietest and least loyal in the premier league :bandit:

I would rather have Fellini (big hair) Everton, (if we sell Sess) now he would make a difference, and what about Moses, he will not get into that Chelsea team, but would be a first team regular with us. Any way as M O N would say we will be linked with about 100 players this summer!, and of course it is the journal newspaper, where they will be going for players like Ronaldo etc.

Fellaini would be in my list of dream signings Monty, he is just brilliant, and exactly the kinda player we need.

Way beyond our means, even with a hugh fee for Sess, sadly, I can see him at Chelsea or United next season, he's that good.

People forget with Fellaini that they did pay around 18million for him in the first place, not going to go for any less than that.

Was a bit less than that mate, about £14million I think, but I reckon it'd take £24million to move him, we aren't gonna pay that in a billion years (by which time he'd be dead anyway, and we'd be wasting money on bones...).

Him or Tiote will be at Chelsea next season IMO, I'd argue (and not a Sunderland thing this), that Fellaini is a better player as he is better going forward.

Tiote is better defensively, but by a much smaller margin.

Can't view a signing like him as a step forward. I'd take Olssen off WBA mind.

You'd have to hope its jsut paper chat, and looking at players who are free and linking them. Him and Saha would be terrible signings. I doubt you guys have money troubles so I'm not sure the club would go down this route. Saha is decent enough when you can actually get him on the pitch. But he's over the hill with no potential to progress or sell on, and lets face it you'd be lucky to get 10 games starting out of him. Andrews is a bizarre choice. Very very average midfielder and certainly no better than what you already have.

Probably just agents doing their worst.

Ah right either way he's not someone they picked up cheap which a lot of people seem to think.

And it depends what you want, if you want a central midfielder, Fellaini is the man, but in our system we like to play someone who doesn't play positively but just sits in front of the defence all day, which is why Tiote is better for us. I'd agree Fellaini is the all round better player as very few teams play with an out and out DM, but for us it works.

this, Ireland's best player by a mile at the Euros and I'd definitely have him on a free, better than Meyler and Cattermole imo and no worse than the overated Gardner and Vaughan, not as good as Colback like

Well my 2 cents, its just paper talk, but he is crap, he should have stayed with Milton Keynes Dons as its about his level, I blame Paul Ince for bringing him to Blackburn.

I just cant see MON going for him at all. (or I hope he doesnt)
