Well chaps I am in the unfortunate position of having to visit your fine city on monday to get my passport renewed.. This will mean i have for hours to kill... The place is on old hall st L3 post code area... Any recommendations as to what i can do for four hours whilst in the city of culture?? Was thinking perhaps a ferry ride along the mersey, and getting my photo taken outside the cavern club though clearly i have no idea where that is.. also can members of the liverpool community be trusted with my phone enabling them to take a ohoto of me.. ?? Any other exciting things i could do will be considered.... Other than visiting Anfield before anyone makes that suggestion.. Thoughts??
Have been on street view to find a pub near the place.. which looks ok.. but cant trust the trains to get me there on time..
Its pissing down sweats,so go on a pub crawl. Or jump a cab up to Anfield and visit the CL trophy Utd won in 99. Or go on a Ferry cruise.
There's loads of Beatles related pubs in the Cavern Quarter and its only 10 mins walk from Old Hall St.
Just looked on google maps.. is precisely a ten min walk to the Cavern club.. Feel free to join me for a pint
Just walk round Church St wearing your tablecloth shouting "**** you, Scousers" at the top of your voice. I recommend this course of action for all visiting Mancs.
You should have gone to Newport. Closer and far lovelier. Home of GLC for **** sake, not some **** sixties band!
Yes but it's in ****ing Wales FFS!!!! Who in their right mind would willingly go there? The only time I have to is when I can't get a flight from Bristol and have to travel right though Cardiff (the only city in the UK without street signs)
Been to newport before as this has happened to me before in 2002.. day before i was due to fly to Crete with the Mrs my dad rings me at work and tells me my passport has expired.. I thought he was winding me up.. He wasn't.. I worked in Birmingham at the time and used the train to get to work... I found out at 11am... Had to borrow a car off one of the women i worked with as had to have my application in with the passport office before 2pm.. the journey from brum is 2 hrs.. Borrowed a bmw 328i tanked it there averaging 110mph made it to the passort office at 1:45 only to find there photo booth was broke so had to go out the building to get photos done in a pharmacy.. thinking ahead I bought a Vicks nasal inhaler.. Got back upto the pasport office at 2:10.. having put vicks in my eyes so i appeared to be in floods of tears... pleaded with the woman on the counter that i was in fact getting married on holiday and begged that they tried to do it the same day even though i was 15 mins late submitting it for the same day service... I then spent a nervous 3 hours sat in O'neils waiting for the call to see if they did process itt the same day.... They did.. all the drunks in boozer cheered when i got the call it had been done.. True story
WTF???? Brummie accent?? I dont have a ****ing brummie accent... Would like to think i am relatively well spoken..
This, on the other hand, is not a true story as the M4 sails right past Cardiff without going close and the airport is miles away from the city.
