  1. Any CCC team?

13 goals in about half a season is good. Him and Ameobi are like the Bent and Drogba of the championship lol.

    Agree with Tash. <yikes>

Both have expiring contracts anyways... if I had to sell one it'll probably be Lover, he'll be very good for any Championship team aiming for the PL, same with Ameobi.

I think a number of you are being a little harsh on young Nile... yes, he had a poor game today but he was up against a very experienced CB pairing in Dunne and Collins - It would have been better if Pardew had started Kuqi and brought Ranger on later to test a tiring defence.

I agree a loan spell in the Championship would be best for Ranger as he really has a great deal of developing to do. He's not going to be a natural wonder-kid like Owen, Rooney or Wilshire and will have to graft if he's to make the grade at Premier League level.

He will have learnt a great deal today.

Nile was disappointing, he's clearly much better used as an impact sub rather than a target man from the off. He made a few wrong decisions on the ball (most noticeably in the first half when he was clearly desperate to score, shooting when the pass was the better option). He got progessively worse as the game went on.

Loan him out until January next year (as long as we get enough strikers as cover, 2 in should do). See how he does in the Championship, then if he is firing them in recall him, if not keep him out on loan until the end of the year.

If we dont sign enough players and need him to add depth to the squad, use him as a last 20 minute sub. He does well like that usually.

Ranger did nothing today. I can now understand why Pardew is reluctant to play him. Kuqi should have been brought on a lot earlier.

So we can judge Ferguson as a potential brilliant player in his cameo appearances, but because we are judging Ranger as a player who should go out on loan to improve thats not allowed?

Personally, I thought Ranger started very bright in the game and was winning the majority of headers that came his way. If only he could have made that tame shot really test the keeper or maybe got a sneaky goal his confidence would have soared from that point... Also what was he thinking when he didn't play through to Lovo !

  19. Ferguson is obviously rated very highly, and is looking like he can play LB comfortably if Jose leaves. We need 1 or 2 new strikers, if Pardew rates Ranger, he'll keep him, but i think it's unfair to keep him on the bench.

Ranger has potential, but is never going to be one of the top choices for us, where as Ferguson could play at any time. Ferguson will stay because he's 2nd choice LB and can play LW also, Ranger will leave because he's going to be like 5th choice.

It's harder for a striker to make the starting 11 than it is a LB.

You're happy with Ferguson replacing Enrique based on 2 cameos and one start, none of which were that special? And then people suggest loaning out Ranger and you say it's silly to decide that, despite him having made around 40 appearances for the club to date.
