And the fact that I can't stand him off the pitch as well , makes matters worse.

 

I think Ranger and Kuqi would make a good impact duo, Kuqi to knock the **** out of defenders and Ranger to tear them apart once they're too tired to take him out of the game. Ranger is only 19, too early to pigeonhole him for his whole career, but at the moment I'd agree he's best used at a lower level or for impact, until he develops his game enough and is able to hold off a defender, control a ball and bring his finishing from the reserves to the first team.

 

What happened to all the people constantly going on about Ranger getting started?!!!

I hate to say I told you so but he is an impact sub and can only play against defenders when they're knackered.

 

He's a twat. Definite loan. To boro. Might make him appreciate what he has here.

 

He's even lazier than Shola on his laziest day! He just seemed to not give a flying **** about the game! Walking around and not winning any aerial challenge , even though he was bigger or as big as their central defenders. If we don't sign a decent striker in the summer I will cry.

 

A bit of a knee jerk reaction don't you think? His first start, only just turned 20, inexperienced vs a bigger, more experienced CB like Collins?

Anyway, Kuqi looked good. If Shola isn't back for Utd game, start him, and get Lovenkrands to run in behind. It'll probably work once, and we have to hope he finishes.

 

This. I've never gotten all the masses of hype over Ranger. His pace when played as an impact sub has seriously scared defenses and I'm usually calling for him to be brought on around 60mins for that reason. But he doesnt score, doesn't look too bothered about passing properly or paying attention when to pass. He's had plenty of chances now to score and he has an incredible knack of shooting right at the keeper.

Very sadden by Ranger's awfully average performance. Use him as a impact sub or get him out of here(on loan to a CC/SPL team if possible). Just looked 100% average and even more so in the second half, were he was as useless as Loverman.

 

Sorry that i misheard his age by a few weeks, as if it makes much of a difference....

In my opinion, we should give Ranger another chance. 1 game, he wasn't great, but neither was the team.

Loverman wasn't useless, he was unlucky not to score twice and was the biggest threat on goal we had.

 

Personally, he needs a LOAN move next season. I know he was against a ''big, strong and experienced'' CB in Collins but he should have been less shelfish in the first half, he had about two chances were he should have passed it to Lover but instead tried to go for glory all by himself. Can either be another Ameobi or another Carroll. It's up to him really, but IMO we shouldn't start him again until we have another striker shortage. Missing Ameobi's experience and Best's energy!

 

I'm scared because I agree entirely, we know he has ability, but cant expect miracles on his first start, let him go on loan to adjust to starting games and generally improve. I knew people would be all over him after the game. One game and suddenly he's **** and we should get rid of him? It's ridiculous.

 

I can't wait for this season to be over, if it can go wrong, it's gone wrong!

I agree about the loan move in a way if we get better options and he's just going to be on the bench for another season, but i think everyones calling Ranger **** a bit too quickly.

Ranger on loan, Lover sold, keep Best and Amoebi, buy a quality striker.

We should let Airey out on loan too. He looks excellent.

 

Cant see us selling Lover, he's only got one year of his current deal left anyway, and who would buy him?
