http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8685009.stm What a ****ing half-wit. This is what happens when you put clueless ****s in high profile jobs....see SFA and Gordon Smith for proof. The best thing about it is that the EFA tried to get a court injunction against the story which makes it more credible. All that time and money spent on a WC bid only for it to come crashing down by a few simple words from a moron. I reckon we'll all be donning ushankas and drinking vodka for the 2018 WC now. happy days, then all the regional lottery funding which would be finally making it's way to the regions after the debacle that is London 2012 would not be diverted to upgrade the billion pound Premiership stadiums for the world cup.
I just find it funny that the English have managed to shoot themselves in the foot again. They don't deserve a World Cup now, can you imagine how much slavering and mouth-foaming there would have been if some Dago or Russki had accused them of bribery? It would be been of epic proportions. I was reading some of the comments by English fans on the Beeb and a few of them are blaming the Journalist and the newspaper for breaking the story
Well the English media are the scummiest on earth, they did just sell out their country's efforts for a couple of thousand extra sales of a Sunday paper.
True but it is kind of their job to be back-stabbing scum. This is what happens when you let Cockney's be the main journalists during the rise of the tabloid in Victorian times. You have to wonder how muppets like Triesman, Blatter and Jack Warner get into these posts in Football though. Clueless bunch of rich arseholes. People slag of Platini but he's clearly a football man and acts like a **** a lot less than most of his counterparts. Like you said earlier Mick; I'm just glad I don't have to pay any money out my taxes so that some cash rich EPL teams can get fancy new stadiums and traffic links etc. Although I'll not be complaining when Celtic get some Commonwealth games money. Yes; I'm a massive hypocrite.
Aye but have you seen the state of the area around Celtic Park, hardly compares to Chelsea I was at an adventure playground the other day with the kids, and after having a couple of goes on the freefall and getting shouted at by the woman because I'm over 11 years old I decided to get a coffee and sit and read the paper - they had a copy of the Sun sitting there so I decided to read it. I've never seen such a big pile of ****e in my life - it actually offended my brain, it should be made ****in illegal - it makes you 'stupider' reading the ****ing thing - page after page of biased sensationalist ****e. I tried to explain to the missus just how offended my brain was with this tripe and she was like "well yes it's the Sun". I just simply couldn't believe how bad it is was, I must be out of ****in touch with just how ******ed Britain is after living away for too long.
British tabloids are amazingly bad. What's more worrying is that The Sun is the worlds best selling daily newspaper with something like 20 million copies a day There are people in the UK who solely get their "news" from the Sun too. You can't imagine how much dumber the UK has gotten over the past three years, in my opinion we're encouraging stupidity on an American scale these days.
I read the Sun for the tits and the footie ... and it''s only 30p I read the other papers online...cause am a tight ****! As you said, can you imagine the outrage if the other bidders had said that about the english fa!!!!!
I've literally never bought a copy in my life but we get all the papers out here on the platform. I read most of them out here just for something to do. It's fun changing from the Sun to the Herald etc. especially if you have them open side by side and compare the reporting on the same story.
Don't imagine there is a lot of common ground in the reporting? The Sun is a pile of ****e, but scarily, there are people getting there views on the world from it.
One of the few good things about working offshore. I never have to go to work with a hangover or comedown ever again. Bonus
I was pished Friday night but stayed off it the rest of the weekend. Woke up this morning with the sun shining on me with a nice cool breeze at half 5. Felt fresh as a ****ing daisy
I think the last time I bought the Sun I was about 17. I used to buy the Daily Sport back then too. I bought the Daily Mail a few weeks back in Malta airport because it was least 'tabloidish' newspaper on sale. I was ****in disgusted at that - but the Sun took it much further.
I don't buy papers anymore. Used to get the record to read on the bus, but don't anymore. When I was at college every **** took in the sun, the star and the sport I tried reading them, but felt like I was losing the will to live
