Just received a collection of Chelsea programmes from PowerSpurs from the 1970-71 season. Very special indeed as I was at some of those games. The one that sticks out is the Ipswich game where the GREAT Alan Hudson (still my all time Chelsea favourite) scored the famous "ghost goal" where it hit the stanchion & bounced out! A massive thanks to PowerSpurs! TOPMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great stuff TEL! That was a nice gesture from PowerSpurs! I have to admit that I'm a notorious hoarder and since my first appearance at SB in 1959 and being ever present until 1973 when I had to break my run because it was my wedding day, I am in possession of a vast collection of CFC Progs! Changing the subject , I was also a fan of Alan Hudson! He makes my top 10 but I'm afraid, there are a fair few I put ahead of him him in my CFC favourites list viz Ossie, Zola, Greaves, Drogs, Lamps! We all have our favourites and these were mine!
No ones older than you cym, not even Methuselah or whatever his name was! As for me I still feel like a spring chicken! Cluck, cluck!
I feel guilty about leaving out Bobby Tambling,Peter Bonetti, Pat Nevin and Kerry Dixon! Where do you stop?
I watched that pathetic programme on BBC3 last week where they named England's worst ever team. The usual **** with z list celebraties reading scripts to talk about games that happend before they were born yet they remember the whole game minute by minute.Apparently Bonetti is the worst England goalkeeper ever
England over the years has been blessed with some fantastic keepers! He played 7 games for England, which he did himself proud in, apart from one terrible bloomer against Germany! That single mistake marks him out as Englands worst! Ho hum!
PowerSpurs you are a legend. A very generous gift, and by the sounds of things to the right person. And the moral is ??? Not all Spurs and Chelsea fans are #%$# holes !!!!!!!! Not 606 take note ! And for CFCTEL, lucky bugger !! By the way, if there is one player we could put in the "time machine" for me it's Alan Hudson. Oh for him to be running our midfield next season. Total pure class.
Mick Greenaway, there's a blast from the past, remember him having a fight with a guy called Ray Sachell,at a Dance hall in Cheam we used to go to.
