You sure? Leeds fans only tend to hold grudges against players with Chelsea or Man U histories. Sheff U don't really appear on our radar for that. You got a link to some of these tweets? Because Kenny has a record of promotions, and Lonergan has turned average in the same way our last three keepers also have. Started off confident and strong, but now fails to beat off shots you'd expect a second tier keeper to save comfortably, fails to organize and communicate, claim balls from crosses/set-pieces. Results like the 3-7 against Forest can't just be pinned on our defence, terrible as it was.
That's got to be a joke right? Leeds haven't even been in the Premiership for the best part of a decade never mind being rivals with those big Clubs yet you're still thinking about them? Newsflash: United and Chelsea haven't thought about bloody Leeds in years. You're small time in a small League. The sooner you accept that the better although quite candidly I thought you'd have accepted it long before now. You'll sound like Liverpool fans next.
It's the truth, I'm not even fishing... for once. Honestly, I've never experienced a Leeds fan who hates a player just because they were associated with any other Yorkshire side. We quite like other teams from God's Own County, it's just that they have a rather envious dislike of our fanbase 'cos it's so gargantuanly massive. And Man U and Chelsea fans still sing about us quite often, they've not forgotten about us yet. Anyway back to the actual point, has anyone got some tweets from rogue Leeds fans hating on Kenny for being Sheff U?
Really? Id love to know what it is they sing as it cant be anything to do with the last 7 or so years.....in fact most Chelasea fans, weren't even Chelsea fans last time they played Leeds. they were either ManUre fans or not born......7 years of history and all that.... think you may be kidding yourself a bit mate !
Of course he is. Fans of Clubs that used to be big can't seem to help it. Liverpool fans must be the worst. 22 years since they won the League yet every Season they think they're gonna win it. This Jerel chap is an intelligent guy, I've seen him post before. Unfortunately his intelligence is outdone by his delusion.
Agree mate, I've read some of his other stuff and no matter how provocative it was, it always seemed well written..... I suppose its like us singing about Chescum for the 15 years we were out of the Prem ?!
I'd tend to agree with this actually although I was singing his praises in this very thread he has lost his way pretty much since around January/February Honestly, I am not one to sign about how big a club we are. I think it makes a man arrogant and I have a certain amount of dislike for arrogancy but we still get scum fans and Chelski fans post on our board trying WuM us about being in the second tier and all that Also when we played the Scum before the amount of chants that they were singing was ridiculous as well as completely destroying the city with there hooliganism. Pretty sure I have also heard a few chants that they have sung in the prem against us over the last season. They haven't forgotten about us just yet I think and as soon as we get back to the prem they'll be one of the biggest games for the teams involved
They sing 'we all hate Leeds scum', 'Elland Road is full of sheep', 'we hate Liverpool and Man City and Leeds', 'we all ****ing hate Leeds', 'Istanbul', that type of thing. Not to mention the inevitable, tedious Cantona baiting whenever you talk to one of them. Probably sing as frequently about us as we do with them. Can post videos if you want me to prove it's not 'delusion'. Done it dozens of times before on here so it's no skin off my back. Although a quick YouTube search for 'Man United fans Leeds chant' or 'Leeds scum' will probably find you the hundreds of results you'll want.
I think you'll find Kenny does the same as your last three. He was suspect in quite a few games last season and his fitness was a concern as well. It seems once that confidence is gone it's very difficult to get back and he's not as young as he was. Warnock shows loyalty to certain players but time is not on his side in this instance...
Sports NewsExclusive - Warnock refuses to rule out Kenny swoop By Ian Cruise | Thursday, June 21, 2012 Neil Warnock has refused to rule out a summer swoop for Paddy Kenny. The goalkeeper has spent much of his career under Warnock and, with QPR having completed the signing of Rob Green from West Ham, he could find himself surplus to requirements at Loftus Road. And Leeds boss Warnock admits there could be a deal to be done for the 34-year-old. He told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “Paddy has been with me for years, so never say never. I imagine it will depend on who QPR get in.” If Kenny does move to Elland Road, he will join ex-Derby midfielder Paul Green and former Norwich defender Adam Drury as new arrivals at the club. And Warnock admits that’s unlikely to be the end of the summer shopping. He added: “We released quite a lot [of players] so we need quite a number of new players. We still need to buy a few more which we’re hoping to do in the next few weeks.”
Rather have a keeper who's excellent at Championship level and suspect at Premiership than one who's suspect at Championship level.
