Over rated, arrogant ****, as much as I dislike Utd as well his behaviour towards them was a disgrace, I can't believe he has the audacity to claim he loves the club when he's clearly motivated by money (hence **** England performances), I really don't see how he's England's golden boy....maybe it speaks volumes about our country as a whole?

    James McClean of Sunderland.

Okay, I don't detest him, but I think he's misguided for his comments about moving across from representing Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland. Then not only does he do that, but he then mocks the fans who have shown their disappointment at his decision (a few did overstep the mark admittedly), but anyway. The fact is, him being from Northern Ireland, he should know what the social situation is, and to be making short-sighted comments like that and then wonder why he's getting death threats is pretty stupid.

Hmm...sometimes I feel like the only person still defending FIFA (oh I am). Blatter has been supporting goal line technology for ages, he didn't just change his mind yesterday despite what some would have us believe. It was Platini who preferred the additional assistants but I think even he knows that they were a stop gap until technology was ready. What I really don't understand is, if the FA wanted to ride the anti-Blatter feeling to actually do something, why didn't they stand someone against him in the election? Or is it because the rest of the world thought we were moaning about nothing and Blatter would have still easily won...

I am by no means a FIFA apologist and they still have a lot of modernising to do, I think the world of football has passed them by in many ways. But not everything is a conspiracy.

PS. Please abuse me in 100 characters or less. Thanks.

Have to agree - maybe I am bearing grudges but I will never forgive him for this:

The performances were absolutely dreadful. I can understand the "don't boo your team" but that is uncalled for also.

It's fashionable to hate Sepp Blatter. I hate him myself, slimy prick who hasn't exactly helped the game along, but I've defended him today on the goal line technology issue.

If they can get it to work sufficiently well (i.e. error-free, otherwise there is no point) it should be introduced, but my problem with Blatter is that he's now all for it because we gained advantage.

He was in support before, which is why trials have been going. It just works to the advantage of England fans to claim he was dead against it until yesterday.

It annoys me more that England fans who clamoured for it after the Germany game are all suspiciously silent after last night.

We'll probably discuss it sensibly as soon as we stop sniggering. There is an element of justice. I'm not a fan of introduction of technology other than perhaps the goal line version.

I have to say criticism of the linesman is over the top..not many of us could have called that at the speed it happened and I also believe Terry's white boots may have made it a harder decision. He did the right thing...if you don't know, you can't give it.

I've always hated Dani Alves. Rolls around the floor like he's been shot but commits so many dirty fouls himself and protests his innocence.

Ronaldinho gets on my nerves. That goal in the world cup against England. The talent he has wasted. The ugliness and all the boozing and womanising. Wait a minute....he's actually my idol.

Me and you agree on this bit Fran. The referee of the game yesterday was one of the favourites to do the final and has now been sent home through no fault his own, I imagine he is not too happy. And in any case, if we weren't talking about a 2cm incorrect decision we would have been talking about a 2 yard one as Milevsky was well offside for the "assist".

Just read the last few entries here, and have started a new thread on the very subject before coming here, so oops apologies Pepys,

I was just thinking of players I detest and I can't think of one. The closest I can get to detestation is the cheating Maradona, but that is for the one reason only. I still admired his undoubted skill. Players who historically got up my nose a bit were Billy Bremner and Johnny Giles, of Leeds. Slippery Eel types who liked nothing more than to chop an opponent down, or leave a leg to trip over. if the referee and linesmen [when they were linesmen] were looking in the other direction. Often, they didn't care about that delicate condition either. Then they'ed protest their innocence as if their lives depended upon it.

I like John Terry, yes he ****s the other players wives, but really you can't trust many of the players as many of them are cheats, I think Terry has been unlucky to get himself caught up in the newspaper storm, they love to write about him.

I applauded him after that. You may dislike Rooney, but most England fans are twats.
