The Fa have been fined £4,038 for an attempted pitch invasion. Now that is just ridiculous, I bet they've been dying to fine England.

Niklas bendtner fine 80k for displaying sponsor on his underpants and Croatia football association fined 65k for its fans making racist chants and displaying racist banners. Sorry, but uefa needs to sort itself out.

How exactly could the FA have done anything about something which was attempted?

    Ridiculous

I read it was 80K for the Croatians and 100K for Bedtner.

The fact Blatter has come out and said goal line technology has to be used now, of all times, after an incident involving England, which went in our favour rather than against, is a piss take.

Croatia are now being disciplined for the third time this tournament, and yet again it involves racism. Its just a joke that they don't take serious action, these fines won't hurt anyone.

I heard that today too and thought the very same. The guy is an absolute clown, he wasn't so keen on coal line technology after the World Cup in South Africa but once there's a high profile incident against England it needs to be introduced!

A fine for an attempted pitch invasion? Christ on a bike this over zealousness makes the football authorities look stupid and petty.

To be fair Blatter has actually said it needed to be introduced since that goal. I hate the guy, but he has consistently wanted it since that World Cup.

Has he? My understanding was that he has been campaigning against it for ages and only last night changed his mind because England weren't cheated enough for him.

They were out of the stand onto the area surrounding the pitch, but didn't make it as far as the pitch.

Not really, they were testing out goal line technologies in friendlies before the tournament with his approval. They were offside in the buildup to the "goal" though.

But he has been rallying against GLT for ages hasn't he? And completely ignored calls for it after Lampard's goal in South Africa, yet now it's a complete u-turn because it involves England.

You're right though, we all know it was offside so we shouldn't even be discussing the incident. It highlights the need for GLT once again but people are making out like we got away with something there which we obviously didn't, because it was offside.

If completely ignored calls for it is the same as reopening the debate then yes.

I guess it's just the same as when you see the away fans at the KC spilling out of the gates when they score a goal.

They go a few yards, go mental, then get penned back in. It sounds like it was something like that. FA said no intended pitch invasion, just fan exuberance.

Still, if it's total nullification of passionate support they want, that is what they will achieve.

It couldve been worse. ;) Nicholas Bendtner got fined £80,000 for showing a label in his kegs,, :emoticon-0116-evilgFFS. typical Uefa come down hard on nowt and let the real issues off the hook. <grr>

But he didn't ever do anything about it did he? And as he was against it in the first place and didn't do anything afterwards, you have to assume his stance never changed. Then suddenly once England don't concede a dodgy goal which might have been awarded with GLT, it has become a necessity. Even compared to the comments in the link you provided, it's an enormous change in stance.

It's a 4 grand fine, hardly coming down hard.

People don't want the FA fined for this, but in the same post want the Croatian FA fined for racism. Can't have it both ways.

All this proves is FIFA and UEFA are more bothered by people taking money out of their back pockets than stamping out any problems regarding racism.
