Two Glasgow businessmen are preparing a bid to take control of Rangers. Housebuilders and property developers Allan Stewart and Stephen McKenna plan to bid about £11m for the club. They hope to run Rangers for two to three years before floating the company on the Stock Exchange and handing the club over to the fans. The pair plan to meet current owner Charles Green, who bought the club's assets for £5.5m, in the coming days. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18527811
Two Glasgow-based property businessmen have claimed they have an interest in the takeover of crisis-hit Rangers. Stephen McKenna and Allan Stewart say they have been "involved" in the process at the Ibrox club for the last three months, but are not making an "immediate" bid. Mr McKenna told STV: "[Launching a bid] is not the immediate case, it’s private just now." Asked whether he and Mr Stewart are expecting to lodge an £11m bid for the newco club, Mr McKenna responded: "We are working on private information and we have been involved in the process throughout the last three months. I can’t say anything just now. "When the time is right we will speak." Mr McKenna and Mr Stewart were involved in Stewart and McKenna Ltd, a property development company which was wound up over a tax bill in 2010. A spokesman for Rangers denied that Mr McKenna was involved in the Charles Green-led Sevco consortium that bought the club’s assets in a £5.5m newco deal last week. Well, that lasted long

Property developer Stephen McKenna paid £15,000 at a Phil O'Donnell fundraising dinner last Friday to play alongside his heroes for part of the game. He played for 15 minutes before the ultimate high - being replaced by Larsson. Stephen, from Pollokshields, Glasgow, said: "That was just the best day ever
Don't know why your all coming in your pants, BBC talks ****e for a change, it's been booted out by ibrox.
Would this be before or after you have tried to muscle your way into the English Leagues. TBH Rangers are becoming an embarrasment not only to Scottish Football but European football in general. Just rename yourselves Glasgow Blue Bottoms, drop down to the highland league and enjoy your away days at Fort William and Buick Thistle. Jock Wallace will be turning in his grave.
looks like the viewing figures were dropping and the writers have decided to relocate the soap to a sexy new location. Somewhere like... bury? http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4385272/Rangers-plan-to-buy-Bury-and-play-in-English-League-One.html
The Mail has us being accepted back into the SPL provided the newco agree that the oldco had a case to answer over EBTs and accept demotion to Div 1. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2162392/Rangers-crisis-New-deal-parachute-Ibrox-club-SPL.html I suspect this is what will happen.
This seems entirely the best option. Newco still get "relegated" which appeases most wanting demotion in some form. Also means that in all likelihood Newco would be back in the SPL within one season.
