Who do you detest in football? What players make your skin crawl or your blood boil. I'll get the ball rolling, having watched this and seen what he says online - Leon Knight has to be one. Seems to have a serious problem and I remember him slating Di Canio and Swindon, for taking him on trial and releasing him after 2 days when Di Canio said he was slow and very-unfit and was struggling to keep up. As well as dishing the dirt on Chelsea players and several other people within football. I just get a bad vibe from the bloke. He's 29 and has played for 15 clubs since 1999. Anyway, check out this video of him commentating on his goals, totally mental: Others include: Ronaldo (obvious reasons), Adam El-Abd, David James. Who would you list and why? Obviously you can't really genuinely hate someone you don't know but who do you strongly dislike from what you see of them?
Di Maria (For being an ugly diving Argie),Pepe (For being a nasty player and diver) and De Jong (For breaking people's legs)
I just read that Ronaldo and his agent are paying for a nine year old's cancer treatment, so you may want to rethink that one.
I think if this question was put on the Pompey Board El Hadji-Diouf would win hands down, with one of his spitting 'incidences' being against Arjan de-Zeeuw
I would like to give Busquets an injury that actually made his rolling around in agony a requirement rather than an affectation. A similar punishment is definitely due to Steven Taylor for his persistent clutching at stomach/face/balls in an effort to convince the referee that it wasn't handball. Finally, I would cut off David Nugent's fingers so that he couldn't foul the ether with his Twitter filth.
I want to slap him for those horrible "50 most shocking moments" shows on BBC3 where he and Richard Bacon make horrendous jokes, but other than that I don't know how you could hate him.
Well there are two categories here. Who do I detest as a person (John Terry, Ashley Cole, Joey Barton etc) and who do I detest as a footballer (El Hadji Diouf, Roy Keane, etc). I find John Terry a despicable human being but last night he was outstanding as a footballer. The same can be said of quite a few top players. Roy Keane and Robbie Savage are two people I did not like on the football pitch. Off it they are quite charming.
Here's my updated list after watching a Road to the Prem Janurary... http://www.brighton-mad.co.uk/players/current_squad_list.asp In particular El-Abd.
Surely Diouf falls into both groups?! I have never liked James for the way he comes across. But yes that DVD was horrendous. On reflection maybe too strong a word, not keen is probably better.
My choosing of Ronaldo has nothing to do with what he does off the pitch. Quite commendable actions, and for the story of Ronaldo's friend that is out there too. However I just dislike him for the way he is when playing. World class, yes, but he's a right pillock at times.
He didn't finish Haaland's career. That's a myth that has somehow spread, despite the fact that he finished the match, and started the next game.
Drogba was an irritating player to watch, but what he does with his foundation is amazing. I still don't particularly "like" Drogba on footballing ability though.
True. Haaland carried on playing but retired later due to his knee affecting his pre-season and leaving him unfit. I think the Keane tackle triggered the deterioration of his knee but I don't think it outright ended it there and then.
