Whilst I can agree with the sentiment of getting rid etc... Aquaman will stay and indeed play if he fits BR's style and performs well. Would we forgive him if he scores 6 in the first 10 games I wonder? Give the lad a break I say, it's not his fault he has a whiny, grabbing agent and a moaning wife. Also homesickness is no fun I can assure you. New manager new start for all - it certainly won't help his confidence if we are on his back from day 1...
I think bottom line, he wants to be in Italy, but, while on loan, the clubs are dicking him about to avoid paying for him, and so, no European championships for Aqua... Maybe if he gets his act together, he can have a good two years here, go to the World cup, and get a move back home then. It says something, that Milan won't pay £3M for him... Maybe his personal demands are too high, and with his bitty career of late, he doesn't really command those fees. So he need to prove it at the highest level, or he'll have to slink away with his tail between his legs and work for half the money he is currently on.
This says it all really. " At this time, there are no clubs interested in him." http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/156475.html
I agree with noble.... there was a guy called winston bogarde that thought he'd made it when he joined chelsea on 40k per week on a free. a succession of cheslea managers put him i nthe youths etc... its a joke that people still think this guy gives a toss... he should be playing for italy and replacing pirlo as thier playmaker but he's not. hes a lazy bum. every time we gave him any chance he got a cold or a boo boo and cried off for two weeks after.
To be honest, I'd forgive him if he just worked hard for the team and proved his commitment to the cause, I just don't see it happening since he has made it perfectly clear over the last couple of years how much he wants to leave
Apart from having to pay the lads wages whilst he is playing for someone else, I think the most annoying thing about Aquilani is that we are probably still bloody paying his transfer fee!
