Surplus requirements I suppose. To be honest I thought that Hughton was going on holiday reviewing all our games attending a few training sessions and deciding who he wants? In fairness perhaps he works quietly.
Glad to see you're all proud that he's moved on to better himself at a bigger club, the massivest he's ever played for.
thats a poor wind-up attempt. But in all seriousness, if he was infact offered a contract at Naarwich then why did he choose to go Leeds where he will probably be earning less and will still have to earn his right in the team
Sorry Josh, irresistible response to JI's attempt He is an absolute legend at NCFC and I guess we'll never know exactly why he went! Possibly length of contract, I would imagine we only offered one year!
well lets get one thing straight - he hasn't left norwich to go to leeds because leeds are a bigger club, if that's what you are insinuating! he's left simply because he only got offered a one year coaching role at norwich (offered by the previous manager - not sure if he was even offered a playing deal), while leeds offered him 2 years (which gives him plenty of chance to play), and from what i can gather he doesn't want to go in to coaching right now. its simply idiotic to believe he's gone to leeds 'cos they're bigger'.
Shhhhhhh dont tell them up north but he has gone to be our inside man at our little ol northern feeder club, he will be back with Snoddy and crew later ....all well at Carrow Road
Don't think I will be able to accept anyone else wearing that number 3 shirt. That is Drury's and no-one elses. Drury has pretty much owned that left-back position and number 3 shirt since he arrived 11 years a go. But as I said on another thread my favourite Drury moment, and one I will never forget, is Drury's equaliser against Middlesborough but I am also going to miss those inch perfect sliding tackles on wingers trying to get down the right wing. Absolutely brilliant.
While I agree that he probably didn't decide to go to leeds because they are bigger. Leeds are still far bigger...
That's all Leeds fans bang on about being a big club. I would rather be a medium sized club and in the Premier League than a big club in the Championship.
You can bash Colin all you like but if you didn't offer him a playing deal, or if it was shorter than the one offered, then clearly he does have something to prove with us!
i wouldn't dispute leeds are a bigger club than norwich. that wasn't what i said. i said he didn't join leeds AHEAD of re-signing for norwich because leeds are bigger, it had nothing to do with it.
i think some of us are a tad annoyed by the way colin worded it. we didn't release drury - he just decided to keep on playing and leeds offered him more security. he has absolutely nothing to prove to norwich as a club nor us fans, absolutely nothing at all, so colin, as is often the case, is ****-stirring.
I doubt he is, if he wasn't offered a playing deal when that's what he wanted then to all intents and purposes he was released and will want to show he can still cut it. I don't think Warnock considered Norwich fans reading his quotes when he made them, he's just building him up for our fans!
for **** sake - he wasn't released!! we wanted him to stay, hence he was offered a new deal warnock intimated he'll have something to prove to us as a club when he blatantly doesn't. also, warnock absolutely hates norwich - he makes it very, very clear whenever we play against one of his teams, partly cos we never gave him the job a decade or so ago when he felt he was a shoe-in, but mainly cos we always, and i do mean always, beat his sides
Think you're reading far too much into his comments. He does have something to prove, i.e. he can still cut it on the pitch.
