CELTIC fans have turned up the heat on SPL chairmen after calling for a boycott of clubs who vote to allow a Rangers newco into the top flight.

Away matches will be shunned if members of the Celtic Supporters Association – the club’s biggest fan group – vote for the proposal at an emergency meeting on Sunday.

And Record Sport understands the ban will include games against the newco Rangers at Ibrox.

A statement issued by the fans’ group last night said: “This has been a very emotive issue for all supporters in Scotland.

“We have to decide if integrity should take precedence over commercial interest. In the opinion of those supporters canvassed by us up until now that is the case.

“We understand the need for chairmen to balance their books but that must be done by operating in an honest and fair market.

“One or more clubs can’t be allowed to operate with an unfair advantage.

“We are calling on all chairmen and CEO’s in the SPL to vote for honesty and integrity.

“A clear and appropriate punishment must be imposed on any club who fails to operate in that manner, irrespective of which particular club that happens to be.

“The Celtic supporters contribute a considerable percentage of the finances generated within Scottish football.

“We will not continue to support clubs who put their own interests before the basic principles of sporting integrity.”

The Celtic fans’ ultimatum means SPL chairmen are now between a rock and a hard place when they meet at Hampden on July 4 to vote on what should happen to the newco Rangers.

If they let the newco in the Celtic fans revolt. If they don’t let Rangers in the outcome could be the Ibrox side, and their fans, being lost to the SPL for three years while the club goes back to the Third Division and starts

    Acting with integrity as usual.

Exactly what I was thinking. It's in their "best interests" to keep the newco in the SPL.

Do you really want to become our new rival after we killed the last one?

Celtic the official old firm winners!

How can anyone support a corrupt league?

This new team are effectively buying their way directly into the SPL and are trying their hardest to be the old rangers without the debt....as if nothing happened.

It wouldn't happen for any other club.

Or will this set a precedent?

As newco are attempting to buy 3 promotions in one year should we just buy the next 9 titles and start celebrating now?

Everyone should play by the same rules.

Even though laughing at them and calling them beggars if they get into the spl would be great fun....it makes a mockery of the league.

Apparently, the Sevco don't have any banking facilities so season ticket money is going to the old Rangers FC. Wonder what Ticketus think of that?

Whats funny is the players are free agents and still nobody wants them. First it was we will listen too offers for any of our players. Phone didn't ring. Then it was the club is up for sale, still the phone didn't ring, eventually getting sold for a £1. Now its please for the love of god somebody take them off our hands we can't afford them and still the phone doesn't ring, lol.

I've never seen you there. That automatically means you don't go.

It's like a comedy soap opera. Just when you think you're getting bored with it something happens that draws you back in again.

Can't wait until the next installment. Shouldn't be long if the past few months are anything to go by.

Expect Celtic to wake up and find Rangers in the shower. It's all been a dream.

<laugh> <laugh> I'm now imagining Lawwell finding David Murray in the shower (obviously one of the ones with the fold down seats)

Cue both of them staring off into the distance, deep in thought...
