Right, I know it's only early, And there are still alot of in's and out's to come. But what with our new manager and the Allams giving us a small clue as to a budget, What would we say are our targets for this season? Promotion?, Play offs? Mid table? I think Mid table for the last 2 seasons has been quite good, when you consider the upheaval that has gone on. However this season, I think we should definately be looking for a play off place. (But am I expecting too much?)
got to be looking at promotion after 2 solid midtable seasons, dont think managers like steve bruce come for mid table mediocrity
Playoffs at least, if we're good enough we could be pushing for top two, some new faces to freshen things up and a solid winning mentality, ie Stewart improving his attitude
A) Promotion.Straight up would be preferable but any which way will do. B) To go to games thinking 'we're going to get a few goals today with x and y' up top today. C) Seeing a change in tactics that doesn't just entail changing one winger who can't be arsed for another who can't be arsed/pisses about too much D) Getting rid of the 'this is the north/west/south/east stand' amateur hour bollocks E) The smelly bastard in front if me washing his hair/jacket/entire self so I don't need to invest in nose plugs or a haze stick on for his seat F) Anyone who sings 'we're the east stand' to get a swift beating with a stick G) Hammering someone, anyone, not fussed who. Threatened it a few times last year but never delivered and it tended to cost us. Sure i could come up with some more but that'll do for starters
Agreed. But I have to disagree with F. I can remember singing "we're the left side Hull City" at St.James Park in the first Premier League Season. Gives me fond memories that song.
Well if we have a top six wage budget which i think we do, i think its quite fair that we expect to be in the top six. I don't expect anymore as so much comes down to who we buy, how much we spend, loans we bring in, injuries, things you can't predict.
The Allams set the goal of Play Offs last year. This year, with a bigger budget, arguably a more experienced manager, and a 'New dawn for the Tiger nation', we must be aiming for that as a minimum. Exciting Season ahead.
Countless on here stated to Leicester fans before last season started that you couldn't throw money at a league and win it... they were right. My point being, we shouldn't 'expect' a top 6 finish, rather appreciate that the odds for us achieving it this season at this point are better than this point over the last couple of seasons we've had.
i'd agree , Allams have set their stall for the season so i should think they expect to be in the playoffs at the very least . Bruce i expect to be thinking the same , tho our current squad is probably going to struggle to better last season - so all will depend on the signings they make.
Right, my list:- For the BBC to show a couple of our matches live (none last season) To get positive media recognition To play a system where we can score more goals than last season To have none of our star players signed by clubs in the same division who think they are bigger and richer than us To have no posters slagging off previous employees (that will be the hardest one out of this list) To get a coaching staff and assistant manager asap To get new players, including 2 quality keepers, signed asap To see the teams we hate struggle at the wrong end of the table. To see Steve Kean fired after we thrash Blackburn at home To finish in the top 2
Would be nice not to have to rely on Koren to score, I think the key to our season is how Bruce improves the attack as the lack of goals cost us a play-off spot.
We already know who the OUTS will be. Steve Bruce already has his targets in sight. From what some of the players have been saying they cannot wait for July 2nd. Thats good enough for me. Indeed he has not. Top 2 finish imo with the squad Steve Bruce will have at his disposal come ko day/date . Play-offs have to be the last resort. With the money being spent this summer a Top finish has to be the aim,, The Allams have set No Budget. Each player Bruce wants will be treated on its own merits. Be in no doubt the club means business. Soon everyone will know just how much. Correct, Agreed. Lets go up in style this time. We have done the play-offs and Wembley and 2nd place in the lower leagues. LETS AIM FOR TOP SPOT. Glad you think so.
