This bar is missing something, my old armchair. It might not have looked very much like a comfortable new Italian peice of fashionable furniture, but it had character as well as beer stains. The odd sandwich that got lost down the cushions gave it an air of homeliness and it was within easy reach of the bar.

Wherever it has been taken, could it be returned please?

I think they'll do better than that - 3 or maybe 4. Without their talisman, I can't see Ukraine scoring either.

Watching them sing the National Anthem, it appears that Rooney doesn't know the words! ;)

Very passionate singing from the Ukranians, but boy, their anthem is a real dirge. :(

I think the players were all forced to sing it loudly. Rooney usually doesn't sing it at all, Gerrard and Ashley Cole normally mouth it. Today Rooney was mouthing it and the other two looked in good voice.

Not feeling well tonight. Pretty angry that I'm watching this at home, but the worst thing would have been to need to leave during the match.

Fair play to them for the fixtures they have lined up. They're playing all three of Hertfordshire's league clubs, the European Champions, and...

    ...

    ...

... I suppose I can understand one bad booking off the back of that.

Is it possible for both England and Ukraine to go through, if Ukraine and Sweden win today?

I expect Snalbans need one match to exercise their sub's - so line up small tin-pot non league outfit. Makes sense.

    £30 for the sandwich!

That must have been the prawn and cucumber one that came to me from the director's box. Baz sold it to me for £15, so I guess that it had historical interest!

Morning all from a bright & sunny West West London - almost a pleasure driving to work this morning.

OFH - I think the chair got broken up for firewood during the long cold winter. Apparently it burned for hours and needed no kindling - it must have been the amount of spillage it had received over the past few years. However, I have it on good authority that the Cheese Sandwich toasted well on the same fire and was enjoyed by a few regulars seeking warmth in The Nest.

I see the hacks are now declearing England as possible winners - will they never learn?

Off out to stock up on my favourite drop of red, plus some other sundries which I cannot get back in Blighty. Catch up with all in a short while;)

It might be bright and sunny in Paris, but it is overcast and heavy here this morning. More rain overnight which saves me some watering, but if the man from the Meteo is right it might stay dry during the day. On the other hand we might have a storm with torrential rain such is the accuracy of the forecasts. :(

It was good to see Hodson with a big smile on his face last night. So far so good, but things will get harder now.

    Morning all

Lovely day down here and with any luck BT should appear soon to fix the phone. Mrs H has gone to London for the day so there might be a glass of red with lunch...
