It's only illegal because the government can't tax it, if they legalised it people may choose to smoke that rather than drink alcohol to relax, so the government would loose out on alot of tax. *
The world is getting smarter. If someone introduced tobacco today, they wouldn't get past first base. We're smart enough to know that it's pointless to legalise another problem.

Of course it should be legal, because you can't stop people doing it. Making it illegal just gives criminals an easy income stream. When the USA made booze illegal, consumption didn't decrease, it went up - and the Mafia built a power base from which their influence spread all over the States. The world should have learned that lesson, and applied it to dope. And another thing - dope smokers may be annoying, mongy twats, but you don't often see them smashing up the town centre when the pubs shut.
