As Bidley says the fact that he cost us £10M and has been sick more than he has been avaliable has been, to say the least disappointing. Fulham have been good to him, good wages and patient, so bearing in mind the few games he has actually played his contract comes up for renewal and wants 2 years and more money. I think that was taking the mick. I little acknowledgement of the situation was called for. I know it's agents again but I just don't like it. I will say when he does play he puts in a good shift but I think we've seen the best of old Andy now.
Agree completely, I don’t think we ever seen the best of AJ, largely due to injuries. He always gave 100% but I hoped he would score more goals than he did.
But opinions will completely differ. All football fans (generally speaking) are fickle. When Ramires had just signed for us after 3/4 games people were saying he isn't good enough for us and some people in the MH stand vs Arsenal were very vitriolic towards him. Over the last 2 seasons he's been our best player and now the man could walk on water after his goals vs Barca and Liverpool, many fans and pundits alike highlighted him as the biggest loss of all 7 players missing the CL final. I also know many Arsenal fans in person that gave up on RVP and wanted him sold after his terrible injuries, the same people that are now praying he signs a new deal. It's the nature of the sport. If AJ bags 6/7 goals in his first 10 games all of a sudden Fulham fans will ask why he couldn't do that for them and QPR fans will think they've got a huge bargain. Remember Giggs was booed at Old Trafford by United fans in 2003 for his performances and these are the same people that want him considered for Knighthood and many other accolades, despite his off the field misdemenaours. As a neutral I see this as a win-win for QPR, when you sign for no transfer fee or a small one, there is little expectation. AJ provides another option now. If Cisse were to get injured, prior to AJ joining I would have struggled to see who would be an adequate replacement, if QPR finish upper-midtable even once they will be able to entice the kind of players Fulham can now.
If AJ scores 6/7 goals in his first 10 games I'll eat my hat - he'll be playing for the only Premier League side he managed to score against last season!
As a starter he needs to be fit to be able to play in the 10 games - a luxury we have not had for some years. I agree when he is fit he will slot a few home (don't think you'd get 6/7 goals in 10 games) At the end of the day he's better off at QPR and we are happy as it's the end of a sorry saga which unfortunately did not work out for him here.
Didn't Dzeko score something like 6 in his first 3. It's unlikely AJ will get that many in such short time but stranger things have happened. With all due respect I don't think (on paper) QPR's opening 6/7 fixtures are that daunting
I don't see what the argument here is geared towards? QPR have got a decent squad player on a free, we didn't want him as he was a flop and mostly a crock, QPR fans are happy they've got him, we're happy he's gone, where's the problem?
