Imagine if we managed to move Simpson onto Fulham for 4 million and bring Debuchy in for a similar amount <laugh>

It would almost rival the Nolan out Cabaye in dealing we made... or the Carroll out Ba in which is probably the best one thus far.

Would be a great signing. Don't think £4m will do it though. My worry is the more attention this/he gets the more bidders there will be. Either we'll get priced out, or someone offering the infamous 'champions league football' will come knocking on his door. And yes, I know he's supposedly 'mates with Cabaye' - but money talks.

As does the fact that whilst we're gaining popularity and prestige in France/Europe, we're still seen as a stepping stone - people talk about Cabaye, Tiote, Ba and Cisse joining 'big clubs' and lets be honest, we're not in that catergory to the same extent! For someone like Debuchy, unless its to further develop as a player, why bother joining the stepping stone if the other side of the river is already interested?

Exactly - well put. The chances of him coming to us are getting slimmer in my opinion. Would love to be poven wrong, but I can see our next full back signing being from First Division rather than a French international.

Carr is probably going to the Euro's to watch targets for the January or even next summers transfer window, he works years in advances. Be surprised if it's someone on the to get list for this transfer window.

You only get about 80% of what Santon is capable at when left back though. I've watched him on the right for the 21's, steps up a couple of levels. Its just a natural thing. I wouldn't be opposed to keeping him on the left but I'm not convinced its the best option for the team overall and over a longer period. I really like Santon and Mark Douglas can eat a dick. How can there be concerns about Santons progress? He isn't even playing in his natural position yet has still improved hand over fist in his time here. Been well managed by Pards to be honest.

What's happened with this Erik Pieters fella ? Seems to have gone really quiet. Would love him in at LB and Santon moved over to RB.

Maybe Debuchy will break his leg and then we'll sign him for 2 pebbles in a year. Seems to be a common theme with us, we must have alot of confidence in our coaches and medics.

He is consistently injured, wouldn't want him for that very reason tbh.

The more we hear about this the less likely it is !
The next player in will be a total surprise knowing the way Mr Carr has conducted business in the past - all gems !
