Do any of you Leicester fans actually rate Mills? From what I've seen of him, he's ****e. Surely you could buy a lot better.
As a defender he's fantastic. Will make every tackle and win every header. Just a shame he's a **** really. Plus he's on a tidy wage.
Not one for a Promotion push then really? I see why Big Nige wants Chester a bit more now Do you know of any other defenders the bigman is after then to replace because hasn't Bamba gone too?
Well there has been rumours of Jason Shackell and Fitz Hall but I think it's obvious who his main target is.
I haven't come on here for banter, I've come on here to have conversations with the more decent minded, approachable Leicester fans. Well, if there's one thing that I learnt from Pearson's brief spell on Humberside, it's that he definitely knows a good defender when he spots one. He brought Hobbs, Chester and Rosenior to the Circle, and we ended up with the 2nd best defensive record in the League.
As much as I hate him for leaving City in such spectacular fashion, he knows talent. The defenders you sign, should he have done his research on them will play in a position that benefits the Club. It's just playing midfielders out of position that's sometimes questionable. He usually played Koren out wide. Koren hates being out wide, probably a reason why he didn't want to return to Pearson.
Nigel used to put Matt Oakley on the wing Its a case of taking one for the team for the player and getting on with it. Paul Gallagher was brought as a striker but i dont think he has ever played 1 game up front. Nigel has proved with signings in the past like Michael Morrison for 100K, Jack Hobbs from Liverpool for 400K and James Chester for 300K All class defenders brought on the cheap who was relativley unknown before they was signed
Nigel likes to play with a central midfielder out wide. While it means they often can't quite get on the ball as much it does mean you're more stable defensively. True Koren really shouldn't have played there but he probably did a job there for you. Nige has found the man for the Job in Marshall though, he plays out wide or centrally.
What confused us though, was Koren had absolute howlers when played out wide. He really was awful, put him in the hole behind the forward (4-2-3-1 formation) and he bangs in 10 goals and creates many others... He definitely had a knack for signing brilliant players on the cheap. Stewart £750,000, Chester £400,000 etc etc... And all these are now rated at more than £1million. If I'm going to miss anything from him, it's the talent he could bring. I'm always going to feel like we were always an ongoing project with Pearson which he didn't finish. However, time to give Bruce his chance ayy? It will be interesting seeing both Hull and Leicester's performances and results this year.
This is the exact reason why many Leicester fans were excited he returned. Plus I think it was why he wanted to come back.
@FoxToffee: Matt Mills due for a medical at Bridgewater Hospital this week with a view to signing for Bolton
Mills will do well wherever he ends up, great defender, shame about his distribution, and his attitude after being dropped for one game, but the latter is only hear-say.
Mercury says Mills to sign for Bolton on a season long loan with a 2M fee agreed to make the deal permanent next summer if Bolton want to do that. Another un named club have shown an interest in Mills Lee Peltier is closer to signing for Leeds And James Chester is the preferred target
