So then a meet in Dublin prior to any travel to a game in London. We then elect a committee to organise the travel and as per the immortal words of Brendan Behan, the first item on the agenda of any self respecting Irish organisation should be the split.................I'm a November man, I think(for London):cheesy:. When do SKY/BT announce their games for the first half of the season, any ideas?

November looked good to me when I first saw the fixtures, there's also a Southampton game that month, if I can remember rightly. I had the same thoughts on the big Clubs in Sept, no chance with tickets. December, other things to be doing with the money. Sat am/lunchtime arrival, and a few pints that evening and a cure the next day, back on Sun PM/eve might work out. Is Swords allowed in London, the man appears to provoke opinion.. Always good to have someone like that at the airport, takes the pressure off everyone else and lets the security feel useful.........

Just went through the fixture list properly and you are dead right guys. Reading at home looks a good choice but considering it's a derby and they will prob bring a decent support, i would still be concerned about getting tickets. We will have to ask all the guys on here to see if anybody has a connection in the ticket office and maybe call in a favor or two. I think Belfast is spot on with his timings and a return flight no later than 2-3ish on the sunday would be ideal. Would allow anybody travelling by car/train, time to get back home.

Also like the idea of a meet up/piss up in Dublin before our visit to HQ, but many might not be able to make both for work/financial/family reasons. Think we should open a thread here once SKY announce their live games and list the Reading game as option 1 and perhaps the Everton game as option 2. There are a couple of "big" games on during the weekend of the Reading game and I can't see us playing on Sunday of that weekend. We might also be able to call upon our friends here to recommend cheap but cheerful accommodation so we can stick around after the match and meet some of the lads/Beth on here.

Whats wrong with the Swansea game lads? First game of the season. Optimism high and a good chance of 3 points. Should be category C game and relatively easy to get tickets. There is also a low chance of it being chosen for TV coverage.

If you want to meet and stay overnight in Dublin the night before, there is a Holiday Inn Express in Santry, near the airport and the M50. It is 62 euro for the night for a twin/double or single including a bit of breakfast (brekkie not the best), you can park the car there (for 7 euro per day or something). There is a free shuttle bus to and from the airport.

In London, you can stay at the Jurys Inn Heathrow for 48 Pounds per night room only. Again, you can share rooms of you want to reduce costs. The buffet breakfast is £8.50 per person. The hotel is about 200 metres from Hatton Cross tube station on the Piccadilly line and 1 stop from Heathrow. It takes about 45 minutes on the tube to Loftus road and less than 15 minutes to Heathrow terminal 1. The location is not brilliant if you want to see central London or go drinking in the centre but is is ideal for Heathrow and they have a residents bar. The best thing is it is a great hotel for the price.

Just a couple of suggestions as regards places to stay. Let me know what you think lads, cheers.

The opening game of the season would strike me as a difficult one to get a ticket, irrespective of the opposition.

I am sure the ticket issue could be overcome if we got numbers together and made representations to the box office as a group??????

I'm not entirely rejecting the idea mate and believe me I'd like to go to that game but I feel the ticket hurdle may be a big one.
I don't twitter but if you do, have a go with Mr Fernandes, and see what he says.

I doubt I'd be able to make it but I'm not stopping the rest of you going if that suits.

Fxxk me, the split and we've not even had a meeting. Chill pls, everyone is naturally full of enthusiasm at the prospect of a new season,
but if we're going to do this then we do it together, otherwise, what's the xxxking point.
Let everything settle down for a few days. Lets see what SKY/BT get up to and we'll come at it calmly and sensibly.
    AMEN

Sorry Belfast but I don't twitter either.

I will send an email to the box office and sound them out about getting tickets. Not necessarily for the Swansea match. I have generally found them to be be very accomodating whenever I have had dealings with them so I will just get a feeler on tickets for a group booking of say, 15??

    How's that?
