Do you think Dyche will be staying?

I am concerned for Sean's future at Watford if this takeover goes ahead - I have seen mention of Zola and Paula Sousa, it would be a shame if Sean isn't rewarded for his great work last season.

I have no idea, but my gut feeling is that he'll be given a chance, but not much of one. If we don't hit the ground running (pardon the cliché) at the beginning of the season, he won't last long :(

Losing SD will be the biggest draw back of the situation, i think, and possibly the only negative.

On the first day of the season, Dyche will be able to put out a strong eleven which was at the club last season, if that's what he wants. So there's no reason to think that he can't match the sort of form we showed at the end of last season. With McGinn back (please) and a winger in place, I don't see why we wouldn't start off in the top half of the table. For that reason I'm pretty sure he'll get the season.

Couldn't see any reason why they wouldn't give him at least the start of the season, after all he has done well. Still I don't have European football connections and I am not a new Italian owner. Still let's face it, for now, who else would want the Watford job in the championship that is better than SD?? Let's be realistic here.

He hasn't, but if money is the sticking point then surely he will soon.

I'd like to think that as Dyche has done well for us, even a new owner would be stupid to sack him and try to fix something that isn't broken.

If they're owners who like the club to live within their means as shown in a post in one of the other threads, then they should realise the work he's done. I hope they're not considering installing a director of football as that hasn't seemed to work at any club in England. One thing I do hope is that when GT stepped down he would've said to SD that he was still available for a chat if necessary.

As they already own 2 clubs, the Pozzo family should be more PR aware and media savvy than LB, especially as they have to deal with La Gazetto della Sport in Italy and if they've been interested in the club since February, they'll know how popular SD is with us and that it would be a big PR blunder to get rid of him straight away. Would love to be a fly on the wall at their first meeting - an owner for whom English isn't his first language, and someone whose vioce sounds a bit like a growl.

Whether SD stays or goes we, the fans, are unlikely to have any say in the matter...but if he does go another layer of fan loyalty is shaved away. Us die-hards will no doubt stick with the club whatever distasteful ownership issues assail us but for many each time there's another pill to swallow disillusion comes a bit closer to the surface. There...I think that's enough mixed metaphors for today :emoticon-0101-sadsm

This is taken from the Wiki page on Zola. As far as I remember it seems fairly accurate.

On 9 September 2008, Zola agreed a three-year contract to manage West Ham United, replacing Alan Curbishley, who resigned following differences with the board. He was unveiled as manager on 11 September, despite not having the required UEFA A managing licence. Zola, surprisingly for someone closely associated with West Ham's cross-town rivals Chelsea, quickly gained the backing of the fans. Nevertheless, he received applause from Chelsea fans whenever he returned to Stamford Bridge as West Ham manager. After a shaky start Zola began to develop a side with a flair not seen in a West Ham side for some years.[20] He was also praised for integrating more youth products into the first team.[21] The likes of Junior Stanislas and Zavon Hines were given their debuts. The duo and first team youngsters Jack Collison and James Tomkins all scored their first goals for the club. In April 2009, Zola signed a contract that could have kept him at Upton Park until 2013.[22] West Ham struggled in the 2009–10 season. Zola's position as manager was put in doubt when he revealed he had not been consulted over a bid for West Bromwich Albion player Graham Dorrans and by chairman David Sullivan's announcement that the entire squad was for sale except for midfielder Scott Parker. West Ham finished in 17th place, only five points above the relegation places.[23] On 11 May 2010, two days after the end of the 2009–10 season, West Ham announced the termination of Zola's contract with immediate effect.[

No It looks like we get lumbered with Zola:( least baadiff only had to change their shirt and badge to get money , we have to sacrifice a loyal servant to the club still onwards and upwards and another example that there is no loyalty in football only money:(

I don't think we could forgive the owners if they sacked Dyche, and i'm pretty sure they would want to make a good impression

Let's not jump to conclusions when we really are only guessing with the help of some Italian based person who is supposed to be in the know.

It has been reported quite a few times that unknown people, rumoured to be foriegn, have been at games over the past six months. They will have followed the fortunes of the team very closely and could be prepared to keep things as they are for the time being. However my hunch would be that Zola fits the style that they would possibly want and we could see SD offered another role within the set up. For his sake because of the amount of effort that he has put in in terrible circumstances I hope that he will be treated fairly and not shown the door quickly.

But we all know that don't we?

A large percentage of fans of just about every club in the land are regularly disloyal to their own club by constantly and publicly running down their own players and/or demanding the head of the manager.

As to the (proposed?) take-over, I suppose that if they stump up the cash then the club is theirs with which to do as they see fit. I'd like to think that they wouldn't risk a repeat of the Bassett fiasco with an 'out with the old and in with the new' approach, but wouldn't bet against it happening. I doubt I'm alone in hoping that SD and others are not shown the door, but if they are, then I would bet that quite a few fans will simply follow them through it.
