It's because svendleeds on twitter (the guy who edits the Scandinavian supporter's club magazine) said he had it on decent authority that there was a good chance we'd hear something tomorrow.

BREAKING NEWS, BREAKING NEWS, READ ALL ABOUT IT, YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST

No-one knows anything, and anyone who claims they know something is talking out of their arses. And if someone daily comes on and says "We will hear something tomorrow" then they will eventually be proven correct.

Except... some people are actually bound to know something, and it's stupid to dismiss everything out of hand, especially when it comes from people who have proved trustworthy in the past.

    Simon

I have no doubt that there will be a leak an hour or two before something actually happens. But there is so much "crying wolf" from people who do not know anything but who claim to know everything that it is actually sensible to dismiss everything out of hand until it is verified either by being confirmed by the relevant large media organisations, or announced by the club or the new owners themselves.

What is your definition of "trustworthy in the past"? What proportion of being right versus being wrong makes someone trustworthy?

    "Wolf! Wolf!"

My definition of "trustworthy in the past" is someone with connections to the club/journalism who has shown that they have no desire to bullshit to get attention and who only share things they've heard from people they trust. It's incredibly easy to tell the bullshitters because they generally talk about 100% FACT.

Well I can assure everyone that I know absolutely nothing about this takeover/investment. My sauces appear to know nowt and most people I talk to appear to have just as much information on the subject as I and everybody else has. One thing I do know is that an investment business will not allow information on any takeover/investment to be advertised or leaked to the media and will instruct the seller to make sure all details are kept private, until the agreements are legally binding, thus I doubt any information on twitter, facebook, rumour websites or on this forum are anything more than basic "gossip" and should be treated as such. ;)

Hello as far as it goes and for what its worth two of us were working at Elland Road on Friday and it was understood that something had been agreed with someone and something is in the offing. Only because my colleague has worked with Leeds for years on end now. Don't know who or when and I have no pictures of Kenny B's todger or anything like that to prove its true (some serious questions get asked on tw@tter!!) That is all and it was told to us by LUFC stadium manager that we would "be getting a new chairman". In case you ask why he would know... he sorts out contracts. I know nothing else. Nothing. THat is it. That is all. I love Leeds but I have no interest in winding anyone up or getting 'hits' on my website. Any would be good but I keep this separate. I too am as frustrated as anyone. Even more so now I have heard that. So I'm still in front of News Now.... has anyone heard anything similar?? I don't know why he would tell porkies.... I am just reciting. For me SEEING is still believing. It is LUFC after all.... anyway.... onwards and upwards. We're there again this week so who knows.... :) MOT

Unless they are part of the private group involved in the investment/takeover, they know nothing except "gossip" and many many people think they know lots about that.

Whatever time news of investment/takeover on ‪#LUFC‬ was to come, would they have arranged transfers before telling it to avoid higher fees?

PMSL - So this guy tries to justify the reason a press announcement is not being made is because we want to secure transfer fee's first - Heard it all now...
