SWORDS is a bit of an enigma. He likes to come into a thread, throw a hand grenade into the middle of the discussion and then walk away into the mist whistling dixie. The thing is we all know this. Yes, he deffo gets up some peoples noses but others on here have to admit that they too go looking for it. Usually you can see the quality of the thread deteriorating before your eyes and all you just know that the deliberate poking is going to start. If you don’t like it, just ignore it. I think it’s very unfair on SWORDS to compare him to CB. At least SWORDS can engage in intelligent conversation (sometimes) and has good solid football opinions to give. CB was the king of the one word or at most one liner. He never gave an opinion. Personally, I think this board would be a dam sight more boring without the Swordster. .

I appreciate all the supportive comments on this Thread (even yours Sooper ). A couple of guys I was certain couldn't stand me have backed me which is a nice surprise! I particularly like Willy's post because I was concerned I may have genuinely hurt the man during an argument on Anton Ferdinand last year. I'd hate to think I've caused anyone distress by my silly ramblings on this Site.

Apologies COL for calling you a moron a couple of weeks ago. Its only after I post things that seem like a laugh to me that I realize they can easily be taken up wrong. The problem is, when people can't see your demeanor, tone of voice etc. and all they see is a black and white string of strongly-worded accusations, they naturally will feel they're under attack by some cu*t that doesn't even know them. Even when said cu*t naively presumes everyone's on the same wave-length and will constantly "get" the vibe of his posts without getting offended.

I don't mind people getting wound up a bit but if one single person on here was genuinely hurt by my bull-sh*t then I'd immediately stop posting.
(cue Sooper saying I genuinely hurt him :emoticon-0102-bigsm)

Yet again someone gets on here and puts down my thoughts exactly (I really couldnt of put it better myself). This board would be worse off without someone like Swords, and also for that matter i would hate to lose someone of the calibre of COL as he match reports are brilliant.
Personally (as Swords posts further down), i do see when he is on a wind up and take it in good jest. Quite rightly he says that when you READ something on here, sometimes you can't get the TONE of what he is saying (I've p***** many mates off with txts when i was joking and they just didn't get it).
Swords - you're a good lad and hopefully one day we will meet up and share a beer of two. We've had a few words ourselves but i've NEVER taken anything you've said to me to heart and never been wound up. As i've said before, debate is healthy and you certainly provoke debate :).
Col - Just dont let the b****** wind you up :). This place would be a lot worse off if you didn't post and you would be sorely missed.

Swords is in a different league to his critics by that i mean advanced .. you should look up to him if you want to learn anything ... if not stay grey and bore the pants off each other. This digital newspaper needs creativity and controversy at all time ... take that away and it will die or you will all be reading a right old lump of ****e

I've also worked out that if you mix all of the letters in his username he becomes Words Hoopster.

Swords' .44 Magnum has hair trigger and, very often, he shoots first and asks questions later. However, when he offends someone, he's quick to apologise and he certainly livens up the board. And, my God, does he love the R's.

To clarify an old saying, opinions are like ar@eholes. Everyone's got one.

    And everyone needs one!!

In a completely hetero way, I'm fond of every single one of the ar@eholes on here :)

I have to say that DT and Swords are two of my favourite posters.

There are one or two saccharine posters who consistently say very little of any interest, so I simply skip over them. Just like many are doing right now when they see 'Uber' at the top of this.

What I don't like reading is the personal insults on this site. Why can't contributors tackle the ball and not the man? It makes for a more civilised debate. Personally, I reserve the F-word and C-word for rants at fair targets in the public eye who deserve it, such as Cameron, Milliband, Clegg and Terry.
