Its not unique. There are also other ****e teams like us qualifying, like Greece for instance. In fact, apart from Germany, there has been some real ****e at this tournament. Football is highly over rated I'm afraid.

said it before and i'll say it again: international football is average at best, especially compared to the champions league or even the premier league. you'd have to argue that at least half the clubs in the premier league would stand a chance of winning euro 2012, even norwich.

having said that, i'm quite enjoying this tournament, though anything is better than the world cup two years ago which was mind-numbingly dull. nobody can defend in this competition and that is making for a bit more excitement. also they are playing with a football rather than a beach ball which clearly helps...

Ah come one to be fair to the guy he's not saying we'll win it but I have to say I haven't seen a hard working performance like that from England in a fair while. Bit premature I have to say but perhaps if the press hadn't been taking the piss out of "Woy" off in the run up then he wouldn't have thought he had to come out with it.

I think it's been a great tournament, yeah the standard isn't great but football is about entertainment in my opinion. I am enjoying it and it's better than watching ****ty tennis.

True, but if you had told the line judges to wear shin pads, youd've been thrown out of Queen's Club for being a prankster !<yikes>

He quickly became my favourite tennis player haha, it may be pretty wrong but the guys reaction was hilarious. His roll off the chair whilst looking at the umpire was probably football like too

I'm sorry, I think this has been far from entertaining. The standard is very poor and despite the attacking intentions of some nations, the defending has been atrocious. Germany stand out followed by it does what it says on the tin Spain. ROI are a disgrace and he goes and names a repeat team because he doesn't want to favour Italy which is exactly what he is doing with that side. Keane was right, football isn't diddly dees singing their hearts out.

Disagree, there have been some very open and entertaining games. Poland and Russia probably being best game for me. I thought the Spain and Italy game was intriguing too. I can't name many games which I have wanted to switch off out of boredom, which happened alot at World Cup. Group A was brilliant filled with twists which I find entertaining. I would say group of death with 3 of the best teams in the tournament has actually been the most disappointing so far. But I guess it depends on what we find entertaining

disagree with redruth - it has been entertaining. however, i agree the defending has been farcical at times. i've found it refreshing to see most teams trying to win matches rather than making sure they don't lose.

While I agreed in my post about the attacking intentions its been from the nations who are probably going out. Greece are an example of parasites but have prevailed.

normally i would agree about greece, but fair play to them against russia, they really went at them and got their rewards. if anything, it was the cagey russians who disappointed more, as they have plenty of talent in that setup. the czech team are incredibly average, as are many of the other nations including england, but at least most are going out to win matches. as i said above, the quality is pretty poor at international level and i think it has been for some time, but its not been boring or dreary - its been absorbing and we've not been able to say that about a tournament since 2006.

I really had high hopes for Russia. Their first round match was just what was wanted to set the tournament alight. But then Arshavin went back into his Arsenal mode and they tried to walk it in or shoot from impossible angles.
What I have noticed is the reluctance by officials to send anybody off. First match and I thought, here we go 9 a side when the big boys play but since then, players have got a way with murder.

roy does seem to have got more togetherness out of the players than many of his predecessors, summed up by every player singing the national anthem before each match. will rooney sing it on tuesday? if he does, then it has to be an instruction from the top as i have never seen him open his mouth during the anthem.

Players who don't sing the national anthem should be fined their match fee, don't they have any pride in playing for their country, perhaps they take it for granted which could be the problem.

Now if only we had http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMZfXN1UOpw...that is patriotic!
