Because the OP created the thread to discuss signings made since that point in time, if you don't like it then don't reply, it's really that simple, and if that's not a valid enough reason for you then your more than welcome to head on over to your own forum and start your very own "Best signing ever?" thread to participate in.

And we get to the real reason you're pissed off. Leeds are an irrelevant club now, stop crying about it and move on.

Best: As a Liverpool Fan, I'd go for Sami, absolutley awesome defender - I wish we could clone him. I can see the argument for Cantona though, the bloke is an icon. Few good recent ones for Newcastle, Tiote, Cabaye, Cisse, Ba, Ben Arfa. I think in 5 years we'll look back on at least 1 of them being an absolute frikkin steal.

Worst: Steve Marlet for Fulham, £11.5 mil in 2001, absolutley shocking. Andy Carroll will prove to be a great player, never worth £35 mil, but no way the worst signing in PL History.

For best signing, as a Chelsea fan I have to go with Gullit. He completely changed Chelsea, his big name opened the door for other big players such as Zola, Vialli, Di Matteo etc

Worst signing has to be Veron, he was massively overpriced, he is the only player that springs to mind that failed miserably at TWO premier League clubs (Man Utd and Chelsea) and I think collectively the two clubs paid nearly £55 million for him (Utd paid about 29 mill I think, and Chelsea paid about 25 million).
    Total waste of space.

When we signed him, he was a world-class player, he did perform in the champions league for us, its a shame it didn't work out but that's football.

Agree. He was a very good player but out of his comfort zone ( slow paced football ) he was poor. A few good games mean **** all when you cost 30million almost and did **** all.

Berbatov was a far far superior signing and even he wasnt one to scream and shout about. Says alot about Veron.

<doh>, Veron was the last geuine world-class we signed although he didn't perform in the premier league, the champions league suited his style as well.

Nobody would argue that AC is World Class, nor that he was worth £35m, but he'll turn out to be a better signing than Veron.
