Only two things could make tennis interesting. 1. in men's tennis use hand grenade in place of ball 2. in women's tennis nude only
Thats a good idea Arfa but not sure I want to watch the Williams sisters with their bare body parts on display
OTT or what???? Police probe Nalbandian 'assault' Police are investigating a complaint of assault after a line judge was injured when tennis player David Nalbandian kicked an advertising hoarding into him. Scotland Yard said a complaint had been made following an incident at the Aegon Championships on Sunday. A spokesman said: "We are aware of an incident at the Aegon Championships on June 17. A complaint has been made and the Metropolitan Police Service is now investigating. The allegation is of assault." Line judge Andrew McDougall was left with a bloodied shin following the incident during Sunday's final at the Queen's Club in west London. Nalbandian won the first set of the final but lost his temper in the second set after being broken by Croatian opponent Marin Cilic. After missing a lunging forehand, Nalbandian kicked an advertising hoarding in front of the chair of line judge Mr McDougall. The hoarding flew off its hinges and struck Mr McDougall in the shin, causing an inch-long gash from which blood started to seep. Nalbandian was disqualified after being deemed guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct and suffered further pain when he had his £36,500 prize money withdrawn and heard he could be hit with a £6,400 fine. Despite the incident, Nalbandian said afterwards that he hoped to return to the Wimbledon warm-up event next year. "This incident doesn't mean that I'm not going to come back," said the Argentinian. "It doesn't matter. I really feel good at this tournament. The tournament director is great to me and I like it. This is a bad situation for everybody and I really apologise for that but it doesn't mean anything to next year." Tournament director Chris Kermode stopped short of saying Nalbandian, the 10th seed, would definitely be allowed back, but conceded that banning the player would be highly unlikely. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/police-probe-nalbandian-assault-094537543.html
I don't know but you wouldn't want that lot swinging about on your HD TV, the lino thing was an accident there's no way they could classify that as assault, the player does look like a bit of a knob though.
I just saw this on Beeb news and was stunned. I cant believe someone has felt the need to report this, but now they have obviously the police have no option but to investigate. Some people need to lighten up, it was not assault.
The officials reaction was hilarious. He kept looking over like, "mummy, mummy did you see what he did?". The tennis player was an idiot but stopping the match was pathetic and it suits no one.
Probably some old fart who saw it on the news. They should be done for wasting police time. But the line judges face! What a loser.
"...A spokesman said: "We are aware of an incident at the Aegon Championships on June 17. A complaint has been made and the Metropolitan Police Service is now investigating. The allegation is of assault......" I sense Neil Hudgell is on the case after all! I cant wait to see the next TV advert though: "Accident at work through no fault of your own? Road accident where whip lash is a shoe-in? Some primadonna tennis player kicks the hell out of your shin? Call Hudgells today for a free quotation of much you are entitled to!"
They should apply the same guidelines for watching tennis as they do at motorsport where there is often a danger to spectators from the vehicles, likewise in tennis you can get balls, racquets and out of control mediocre players creating health and safety issues as this incident proves.
