Exactly this!! Swords.......you are the type of person who causes more racial tension than half the members of the BNP!! You see offence being stated against everything and everyone in your liberal, hand-wringing mental way. You point out a racial injustice where none exists, thus bringing up racial tension where there was none. I'm sure you are horrified at the terms blackboard and accident black spot!! You really are such a bore!!
Room for my $0.02.... Swords, something must have happened at some point that makes you excessively sensitive to preceived racial / nationaliostic insults. Whatever it is, I really think that you're over-reacting to what is by no means a racial slur against anyone. Not the Italians (who have a political history as a nation of corruption, driven by organised crime at all levels of society and whose method of dealing with such issues has generally been a mixture of violence and 'reflection', where they accuse others to take the focus off their own shortcomings). Not the Eastern European host nations (any one of which can justly lay claim to having the most corrupt border and customs officials in the world). And not anyone else either. Mentioning these things in a post, whether in an honest, factual manner or as a means of introducing humourous banter, does not make someone a racist xenophobe. Sadly, it's probably much more likely that feelings like this get stirred by a mis-placed, vehement attack on the original innocuous post. In other words, you're possibly steering people towards the more extreme viewpoints simply by the accusations you're making. Just a thought, because I'd not even thought about racism or Xenophobia reading the OP, but you then bring it into the mix..... I just don't read anyone on here being racist or xenophobic, simply attempting to bring some colour to the close season by drawing out the irony in a nation like Italy, with it's historic past and it's current internal footballing scandals and investigations, accusing other nations of fixing matches to their detriment.
Tribbing. You get two ladies (I think the non-PC term would be 'todger-dodgers' if you get my drift) and they kind of.... well they.... tell you what - go get a couple of pairs of scissors, and you'll work it out, mate!
Tribism must be the act of tribbing. Personally, I was really upset and disappointed when I watched that Star Trek episode about Tribbles. Not what I was expecting at all....
(Good post above btw, I just think there's a difference between "patriotism" which is good and slating other Countries which is bad.)
"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" Samuel Johnson. It's fine when it helps you choose a team to support in a football match. It's bollocks as an approach to life.
