So we can now sleep easily, knowing that nobody will want RvP after his euro performances. Well done Robin, glad to have you back with us now.
The Dutch were diabolical, and it's 90% the manager's fault. The team he played against Denmark should have played Portugal, and vice versa. Was just reading that he was the coach who got them to the WC Final, unbelievable.
I head a lot of people raving about this Kevin Strootman guy and he did not even get a single second on the pitch. Considering Holland's problems in the midfield, why did their manager not give this kid his chance?
Because Raymond Domenech kidnapped the real Bert van Marwijck, and managed the team in his place. Honestly, thats how bad the netherlands were, it's like they were france from 2 years ago.
Was just reading about Strootman's strengths. He's a deep lying playmaker with a wide range of passing ability. If this is true, then the manager is a complete idiot for not putting him in after the first game. They so badly needed this Alonso-esque central midfielder to link up their team. The only team Van Bommel would have been effective against was the light-weight, dribbling Portuguese, and that's the only game he didn't play in.
Fear the Lions! Redknapp wouldn't swap England's attack for any other at Euros http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/harry-redknapp-backs-englands-attack-889178 “Frankly, I wouldn’t swap England’s front six for any at this tournament – including Spain’s." Why do we always try to overhype the English? I mean, this comment from Arry is frankly absurd and delusional at best!
are you sure it wasn't '“Frankly, I wouldn’t swap Spud's front six for any at this tournament – including Spain’s." . - poor old 'Arry
Give 'Arry a break. He has just finished a long stretch at ****e hart lane and some of their delusion was bound to rub off on him
totsfan - if you say enough dumbass things you are bound to get one of them right .. at some point. It is called the law of averages
I like Arry but we all know he's talking ****e on this one. As Hothead says, it's the law of averages. Let put things in perspective, we struggled against Sweden and if anything, Sweden was the better team. To rave on about England's attack, after super sub Walcott singlehandedly rescued them, tells you how good the attack really is. Sweden is a very ordinary team with one top player. If we are having titanic struggles against them, just imagine what Spain or Germany will do to us....
We did better than the Dutch... Didn't see that one coming! I still think we're horribly over-hyped (not aided by that unemployed re-tard) but one thing I did enjoy seeing was a bit of team spirit. Disconcerting to see England defending like Arsenal though! WHY must all the teams I like do this too me?!
Holland going was one of the saddest. On paper, they have one of the best set of players in the tournament, but on the pitch, they have been one of the worst teams! Their stupid in fighting always seems to cause them problems. You have a front three of Sneijder, RVP and Robbens, and you lose all your game and go out in the group stages.... Just imagine if Wenger was the manager of Holland.....
