Seriously? The lad needs to up his expectations. Easily a player worthy to play in a top 6 team.

 

If the lad goes to QPR it will be his own problem then and he deserves the fall from grace that will come his way. Anybody remember a certain Lucas Neill and how his career progressed after choosing West ham...no didn't think so what a thick gobshite he was

Anyway, I wouldn't mind Adam Johnson at all put he has his faults - greedy, predictably steps inside to shoot for example. I'm happy with whoever Rodgers decides he can sign that will fit the type of football he wants to play.

 

Adam Johnson is defo someone we should be looking to bring in.
As a replacement for Dirk he would provide us with good pace and the ability
to go past defenders like their not there.He will score goals aswell ,and can't
be happy sat on City's bench.

Problems would be size of fee and/or wages,and if City would let him go to us.

I think it's worth an enquiry at least,this lad's got talent!

To be honest, if Adam Johnson joined QPR I'd be gutted that we didn't get him. Obviously we are a more ambitious option than QPR but those calling QPR a big step down may be eating their words this time next year. I expect them to push after surviving the drop and predict they will finish at least mid-table

However, I too suspect it may be Andy Johnson

 

QPR already have Zamora and Cisse. They have enough aging strikers. Dont see why they need Andy Johnson.

As for the OP. Yes it could be good for signing Sturidge and Johnson. The rest of the decent English players are taken.

 

It's a crime Johnson is no at the euros ahead of Downing.

 

Johnson barely played in Cities title run in, where as Downing has been an England regular for years, so I think its fair.

 

I'm more surprised Joe Cole wasn't picked in place of Downing. I hear his contribution at Lille was far superior to Downing's contributions to Liverpool.
