We got lots of good players in England! All the Manager has to do is 1) Pick em, and 2) Organise them into playing as a deadly weapon. Woy f'kked up No 1 for me, but looks to be doing better on his no 2!

I think you have to give him the benefit of the doubt at the moment. Thrown in at the deep end with some of his best players injured and Rooney suspended he's not really got much chance. We've had two fortunate results and go in against a Ukraine side that look there for the taking. If we go through it will almost certainly be Spain next and we'll need a massive improvement to stand a chance.

I think Roy will look at reshaping the squad in September when the World Cup qualifiers start. Hopefully one or two of the younger players will be blended in to revamp the side. It will be interesting to see whether Jack Wilshere returns to his best next season and hopefully someone like Ross Barkley might be given a squad opportunity against one of the minnows...

I really don't understand how anyone can have a bad word to say about Hodgson. He's done everything right so far for me. He gets results and he has a habit of playing in a way that gets better results than perhaps the team deserve- case in point QPR vs WBA home and away last season.

Totally agree. What is it people really want, a gallant band of losers who play exciting attractrive football but wont lift a cup for years, or a team that might not be the best in the world, sometimes prone to mistakes and a even maybe a little bit boring BUT still get wins ?

Of course in a perfect world we want the attractive football AND the wins but ffs, he's only been in the job a few months. Give Roy a chance.

What a load of crap....by this reasoning then Di matteo is the best manager in Europe...

Woy is no good and we will not move forwards with him.....Need rto get all the over paid stars out and build a team from our youth. Seem to rmember we aint got a bad youth set up?!!

Get rid of Woy and give it to a manager who plays proper entertaining football, then (most importantly) get the Sun and Mirror on his side.
If we loose the next 10 games, then so what? I seem to remmeber england spanking Germany 5-0(1?) in Germany...where are they now ?!

i have honestly never cared less about our team than i do at this moment. Not un-patriotic (col) just really dont care.......SORRY!!

I have been following the games and when we scored the winner, the Aussie boys were in the pub....i just couldnt be arsed to celebrate....

    Cue abuse !!!!!

Di Matteo is probably the luckiest manager in Europe, but you need luck to suceed. Hodgson is vastly experienced and respected throughout Europe. It seems only our own fans think he's crap. He's getting performances and pride out of this bunch of underperforming millionaires and I don't see what anyone can expect more than that.

You do wonder sometimes. If the whole Terry family and Harold Shipman were in midfield for England I still couldn't help but want them to win. It's still not 1% as important as QPR for me but I don't understand how people can not care one iota about the national team.

Lose to Ukraine and he'll be the worst manager on earth. Too early to tell. I think the low expectations are causing people getting a bit carried away. Two decent results.....but two very ordinary performances.

Watford...take a step back...stop buying into the glamour of the premiership being any good, stop believing our players are reaally any good.
Fact is, the prem only get the left over players from the other leagues....

i love my country and my HOME, but i just cannot buy into the poloitics and bu****it going on with our national team!!

I'M AS PATRIOTIC AS THE NEXT MAN, BUT i AINT GOONA BE TAKEN FOR A RIDE--BY ANYBODY!!

Good luck to you if you want to support what the FA and England set up promote...persoanally i think its a pile of sh**e!

    Each to thier own mate

Or support whatever team are playing England & hope England get do that Hodgson gets replaced with (Insert name of you choice)

And out of curiosity, who would you of chosen as England manager ?

I don't think we are being taken for a ride. Hodgson has picked a squad and for whatever reason has had to choose between Terry and Ferdinand. Putting aside my dislike for Terry, he's currently a better player and stronger leader than Ferdinand. I quite like or at least don't dislike most of the rest- I can't stand Lampard and he's not there- and I like the manager. Even if I hated the lot of them, it's still England. There are QPR players, managers and boards I've disliked down the years but it's not stopped me being a QPR fan and, given this team, manager and FA is more likeable than many in the past, I see no reason to not get behind this side.

The Premier League is a very good league. Certainly within the top two in the world and the most exciting to watch in my opinion and that of the world as a whole. The players are decent- not brilliant on a par with Spain and Germany but decent, steady players who, if they play to their maximum, can compete with those sides. I don't see how you can say the prem only gets the leftovers from other leagues. Madrid and Barcelona are better than anything we have right now probably but City aren't a million miles behind. United have a young team that will improve and that lot down the road have just bought what is supposed to be the best young player in Europe.

We'll probably scrape past Ukraine then get pumped by Spain but for the first time in a long time it seems the players have pride in representing their country and that's enough for me.

As you say though, each to their own.

Richards and Rio. A RB who can defend would mean no Milner.

    Agree with Richards.
I think we have some good youngsters - Cleverly, Wilshire etc - and if they were available I would have taken them, played them all and been prepared to lose all 3 games to get them tournament experience. But they could have been slaughtered by the media, which may have been even more damaging for the future. Hodgson is cutting his cloth to fit what he's got and doing a decent job of it. I hope come the next friendliest and WC qualifiers we go for youth, perhaps even write off the next WC, but at least have some fun. I'd put Jones in for Parker on Tuesday as well.

    Exactly this Watford!!
I think, for some people, it's simply easier to hate their own country rather than risk going against political correctness (Swords!!) by being patriotic!!
