Saturday 16th June... Day 9... Final group games... Group A ko 7.45 Czech Republic v Poland ko 7.45 Greece v Russia Russia are through but in which position...? A win gets top spot, and maybe even a draw will do. Second place is going to be a tough match but the Polish have to defeat the Czech's to progress... Good luck as usual...
still no correct predictions from the many games so far so today is the day, Greece 1 Russia 4 Czech Rep 2 Poland 2 great win last night but still looks like we shall be 2nd in group meaning a difficult game next Saturday
Sorry Red. I copied and pasted from the previous post and changed the scores. Didn't realise it was the wrong team name. I'm doing it again so hope these are the right teams Germany 3 Denmark 1 Netherlands 1 Portugal 1
Sunday 17th June... Day 10... ko 7.45 Denmark v Germany ko 7.45 Portugal v Holland So, no crazy predictions from me in this group as it really could go any which way possible... After the crazy way Group A went it will be hard to predict anything now with any certainty... Are you watching Mr Platini... This is what happens when you get a tense last match... DO NOT ALTER THIS FORMAT IN THE NEXT TOURNAMENT...!!! Oh, you are, you stupid garlic muncher... On to todays game and the Dutch are ****e... The Danes have Bendtner... and Rocky Ronaldo has missed his chances for the Portuguese... What could possibly go wrong today... Good luck as always...
Denmark 0-2 Germany Portugal 1-2 Holland I have to keep faith with the crazy Dutchmen as ive backed them... So pull yer finger out the dyke and get scoring some goals... Germans will slice through the Bacon boys...
Was wondering what people think about the scrapping of goal difference as the decider when teams finish level on points? Under the old rules, Russia would have qualified ahead of Greece as they had a superior goal difference. Now they go home as they lost the head-to-head. I thought the goal difference rule was created to persuade teams to be more attacking, to try and score more often? This head-to-head rule seems strange to me, look at Holland - under the old rules they would have gone out tonight to try and hammer Portugal and hope Germany do the same to Denmark, aloowing Holland to scrape through on goal difference. But with the current rules they are out - even if they win 5-0 and Denmark lose 5-0, Denmark would finish above Holland because they won the head-to-head. Not sure the rule change has really added to the excitement or spactacle.
Got home pissed last neet Odddy thinking Russia had qualified . Asked a few on twitter and they said H2H. BULL**** RULE it has always been goal diff and then if level still H2H. ****ing making football worse every day with there ****ty rules. Within the next 10 years the game will be gone- telling you to many foreign players in all of the leagues. Every league should be capped. And technology has ruined football also - crying on for all this new stuff. **** OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! soon we will have a robot ref.
Nice rant Fully agree though - UEAF and FIFA's permanent timnkering is a joke. Don't get me started on the World Cup 2018 in Russia and 2022 in Qatar
The Rules If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied, in the order given; to determine the rankings: ⢠(a) higher number of points obtained in the matches among the teams in question Did you know? If two teams are tied on the same number of points as well as goals scored and conceded after playing each other in the final group match, qualification is decided by penalties. ⢠(b) superior goal difference in the matches among the teams in question ⢠(c) higher number of goals scored in the matches among the teams in question ⢠(d) If, after having applied criteria a) to c), two of those teams still have an equal ranking, criteria a) to c) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the two teams in question to determine the final rankings of the two teams. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria e) to i) apply in the order given ⢠(e) superior goal difference in all the group matches ⢠(f) higher number of goals scored in all the group matches ⢠(g) if the two teams have played each other in the final group game, the team to progress would be decided on penalties. Otherwise it comes down to the Uefa national team coefficient ranking system ⢠(h) fair play conduct of the teams (final tournament) ⢠(i) drawing of lots. Its as simple as that...!!!
