You hate the fact that a game that would normally be a squad players game played in front of an almost empty KC stadium is our first competative game of the season.? ffs, what do you want, Real Madrid at home instead in a meaningless game or something llike that ? It will work out very well for the club IF its played on the correct day. Saturday 11th August allows many Rotherham Utd fans to come along and Steve Bruce will play his best available team as its the first competative match. That gives Bruce a full week to get ready for the big ko the following week. I know what i prefer.
I wanted Barmby to punch the ****er. He tries to put on this attitude of "I respect the team I'm up against, they're a great opposition" blah blah blah bullshit. Then in the game, he turns into the most unsportsmanlike, moaning prick who screams at every challenge made. Pedigree twat.
I thought that a first but I don't think it's so bad now. If anything it just adds to the build up. Friendles, a semi-competitive cup game and then the real work starts.
No i would just rather that the big build up for our first game was actually a league game, i can see the benefits of it instead of a friendly, but if we waited til the 18th it would give us another week to get fully fit for the capital one cup and then maybe take it more seriously, ever think of that.... So technically it gives us one less week to get the team fit and get games in every player. You prefer what you prefer, you have a right to your opinion i just know the majority back mine.
I'd say this thread would suggest a lot of city fans don't care and think it's more likely a stronger team will be put out if it's our first game.
Looking at the make up of Hull Citys pre-season programme, I would expect Bruce to play his best starting 11 in the Norwich City friendly on tuesday night 7th august and again in the Rotherham Utd cup game which (as i thought it would be) is now Confirmed for saturday 11th august. Thus giving Bruce a full week prior to the Brighton game. NB. 11 coc games being played on saturday 11th. One on sunday 12th (Blackpool v. Morecambe) ++ 3 on monday 13th and the rest (21) on tuesday 14th august..with Brightons cup game @ Swindon being one of them and Live on sky tv. Well if you have not been to Hartlepool before you could use that on saturday 4th August. Good crack up there. Thankfully the tv people have overlooked Hull City for now at least. Phew.......more saturday 3pm kick-offs.
Have we ? I can fully understand the Derby County change(fri-21/dec)...so thats one(and its not that far away anyway) but whats the 2nd saturday change then as nothing else is showing to be a friday fixture.
I am really hacked off with the Derby game getting moved. It was a grand day out last season and I can't get a train back after the match on a Friday night. Might just have to make it an overnight stop in Derby.
I have no issue with Derby being moved from a saturday to a friday night, Nor Huddersfield ko time being brought forward by 2 and a half hours either. Get back home sooner for starters. Furthermore, i can take in other games as well. Saturday 22nd i can choose from Doncaster v. MK Dones, Scunny v. Carlisle or more likely make a day of it in York and take in York City v. Gillingham. After the Udders game i should just be able to make it to Bradford City v. Southend and see how some City old boys are getting on.
