"The personal wishes of Sigurdsson have, however, brought an end to Swansea's hopes of signing the player, leaving the way clear for Liverpool to make their first signing of a new era." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18472916 So he's definitely not coming to Swansea, or speaking to Laudrup by the sound of things.
Why couldn't the twat just phone up Huw and call off the deal with us if he was definitley going to Liverpool?? Wasting the clubs time.
I wonder how much Liverpool will pay for him, assuming they do sign him. Hopefully a bidding war will drive the price up.
Gylfi talks **** on twitter .... http://twitter.com/#!/OfficialGylfi Gylfi Sigurdsson ‏@OfficialGylfi I am pleased to announce that i have agreed personal terms with @SwansOfficial (28 May) Gylfi Sigurdsson ‏@OfficialGylfi and am having a medical hopefully on Wednesday before signing for #SwanseaCity permanently (28 May) Gylfi Sigurdsson ‏@OfficialGylfi the fans were one of the main reasons for me joining full time #ThankYouAll (28 May) Gylfi Sigurdsson ‏@OfficialGylfi sorry haven't tweeted much in the last couple of days been very busy. will bring you news very soon people! (1 June) Gylfi Sigurdsson ‏@OfficialGylfi As I said to Morgunblaoio, I am unclear at this moment where I will be playing next season. I am still a Hoffenheim player (5 June) Gylfi Sigurdsson ‏@OfficialGylfi I expect not to stay at Swansea because of the uncertainty going on there as it is not clear who is going to be the boss (8 June) As I said, disengenuous, but we move on. It seems to me Brendan was using 'spin' with his quotes about speaking to us first, knowing he had already 'tapped him up' . Now Laudrup has signed, I recon a bit of panic set in on Old Buck .... hence this move.
Disappointed to be honest. Being a little childish about it, I hope we show Siggy next season just what he missed by not joining us.
Cheerio , Hopefully we can and will not only get someone else the equal if not better for less money .Rodgers spin appears to have worked it's charm again
I'm happy he is not joining. i want laudrup to bring in who he wants and not brendan's choices. he did not inspire much after his early goals and found it hard in the last 5 games anyway, £6.8 million plus what wages he would have had can now be better spent on laudrup's finds.....not disappointed at all about this...
The tart can go with Brenda, hope they'll both live happy ever after! It was inevitable consequence of the situation, and I'm sure Laudrup will replace him, we move on to pastures greener, well said Dai, you make sense..................... please log in to view this image
I would love to see Gylfi here but i was resigned to him not coming the moment Brenden Rodgers left for Liverpool. Gylfi was only signing for our club because of Brenden so its unfair to give him any abuse with regards his transfer. I expect him to become a Liverpool player but of course you never know in football, he was 100% ready to sign for us then Rodgers decided to move away,if any blame or bitterness is to be shown it should be directed at Brenden Rodgers not Gylfi, he experienced what it is like to be signed by a manager who left and ended up on the bench, thats one of the reasons we had him here in the first place!! why would the player want to put himself into a similar situation?? No1 superswan is correct,Laudrup will more than likely want his own players not Brendens, but whatever Gylfi does he will have my respect for the great effort he put in with helping to secure our prem status A shame things changed but onwards and upwards now with a big thanks to Rodgers and Gylfi
i dont blame him for not signing, when we didnt have a manager, but if rogers have turned his head so be it. but i will say this he was a superstar with us ,there are not many swansea city players who move on to become superstars else where
"So he's definitely not coming to Swansea". Well,I think it's been quite clear for some time now that he was not returning. Many people have retained some hope that he would be back, but I never subscribed to that. He prevaricated for too long, and then Rodgers left,so it was bye bye Siggy. Liverpool will probably sign him now,and who knows, we may get someone equally good,or even better.
No hard feelings from me as i expected it when Brendan left,Don't want to knock our club but if a professional footballer has a choice of playing for Liverpool or Swansea i think it's obvious where he's going to go.
