Enrique over Henderson. Jose was much less reliable second half of the season. But not so surprised because a lot of shirt-buying fans suck up media cliches, which causes them to judge players according to daily bulletins. I note nobody today in the comments columns of newspapers up and down the land is talking about Carroll as a "waste of money". Funny, that. We need a shirt which says "Be patient, I'm still developing" on the back.
Carroll has the #9 on his back? I always though he was #35. That's the number I always read in the papers... As above, the only surprise really is Enrique. For one, I'm surprised most people are confident they've got it spelt right. Plus you need a back/shoulders the size of his just to fit all the letters on.
I think a few of those people might have egg on their faces, after the transfer window is over. I still think Pepe will be gone, and I'm not 100% certain either of our centre halves will still be here...or Suarez. Always a big risk getting these shirts before the transfer window ends... My son's wall calendar has Kuyt as July, no point turning over for that month now is there? ;-)
He got the number nine shirt when he arrived since Torres vacated it the same hour I think he had to wear a higher number (may well have been 35) in the Europa League that season because we had already registered Torres as nine and you can't duplicate a number in european competition PS - the store attendants don't have to spell the names. They are all on one print, they just have to match the name and numbers
I know he's #9. I was joking about how the papers always call him '£35 million Andy Carroll.' He wore #29 in the Europa League. Babel previously had #19, Torres #9.
