Today's paper copy states Hughes is interested- could not find link. Don't think duplicated but apologies if old news.

It seems to me we really are progressing with manageable steps rather than giant leaps. The team that Hughes is assembling will be solid and reminds me of the team Warnock assembed before things went sour. A solid dependable crew that won the Championship.

The similarity ends because, obviously, we will not win The Premier League but, as others have posted, I expect us to move on and finish a little way away from 17th (upwards!) next season.

Once the training ground is up and running and the plans for the new stadium in place (maybe even bricks and mortar too), perhaps 13/14 season, then we an expect higher profile signings and a push up the table.

I am entirely happy with this slow, methodical approach. Better to be the tortoise than the hare!

New one, well spotted. Who does he play for now? If over 30 Flyer will have an aneurysm.

Didn't he play for Forest in our Championship winning season in the 1 v1 draw at LR (out on loan from Liverpool). He was their best player and Forest tried to sign him at the end of the season...but got outbid by Leicester.

He fantastic against us that day...no idea how he did last season though.

Full back cover? But we have Traore, Young, Onohua (not Taiwo I am assuming) and now Fabio (and Hil at a push)

We must aim higher than him. He is a championship player now. No thanks.

Has been shocking for the last couple of years, nothing but an NPC player.
    We should steer well clear.

I would have been disappointed with him when we had Dowie, Tango and Cash.

Mate, he's not even that. I've seen him play against City for Forest and Leicester in the last couple of years, and he's utter crud.

Im trying not to go off on one!

The only people who are saying hes ok are the ones who havent seen him for the last 2 or 3 years.

We should not sign old lower league players. Im fine with picking the best or the best prospects but not journeymen following the money.

That's my thoughts exactly - either he's ailing at the tail end of his career or the Prem has moved on and left him behind.

I thought he was OK about 7/8 years ago.

Please tell me this is just idle press summer crap to fill a page.

I don't wish to be awkward but I simply do not understand how a team built slowly and methodically, if that's what's really going on here, would necessarily play any better than a team, of some quality, assembled faster.

We made a huge mistake bringing SWP and Barton on 2-3 times the wages as anyone else for no improvement on the team. No one is asking for 100k players but this would be a backwards step even in the NPC. I just hope its an agent linking him with us to try and get better wages from another team.

Oh dear god. We must aim for higher than him. He is well past his best now. Well past it.

Has been a NPC player for the past 2 seasons so clearly isnt up to PL standard.

Are Hughes and his expensive team of assistants incapable of spotting talent early? Just a question.

I am so sorry but I fell Mr. Hughes will not be with us much longer! He is doing the same as COLIN, but not with the same audacity that COLIN had. Remember COLIN did not have the money that Mr. Hughes is getting!!!!? And he got us up on nothing, please do not forget that fact!As I said I have a feeling that Mr. Hughes will be gone soon. Hope I am wrong, have been before but!!!!!!!!!!!!?
