All we've ever heard is Rooney this and that and how we will get destroyed without him in the squad. I'll say it again that Rooney (as talented as he is) is all about self especially in the national set up. Building" him up as the player who can literally win us the Euro cup is ridiculous. There is no "I" in team Wayne. If things don't go his way against Ukraine will he implode? I've seen it too many times so it's a valid question. What Walcott did yesterday was simply incredible and for 20 mins he showed a level of desire that I have not seen from a player in the national team for a long time. Well done England and please don't ruin the good work Wayne.

Should Rooney start the next game ?

I think Young showed that he isn't really good enough at he highest level, I mean, he has looked poor so far and his basic skills are easily snuffed out, the defenders read what he is going to do before he does it.

I'm not questioning Rooneys talent I'm questioning his mentality which in my opinion resembles a ticking time bomb. What is the point in having a talented player who can't stay on the pitch?

Actually he was booked twice for united last season. Since 2004'Ronney has received 7 yellows and 2 red cards for England which is a phenomenal record for a non defensive player and validates my concern about his mentality as being the special one in the national team.

But a non-world class player like Theo just made a difference, winning us the game. When did Rooney last do that on his own?

This would show that Rooney harrassing the refs has been effective, they are too scared to book now. They would also face a grilling from the Sir.

Walcott was fantastic last night, too bad that Gerrard came into the way of the Ox in the dying minutes of the game or he could have had another assist.

What he has been lacking for years is consistency.

He to prove himself when he gets picked for the starting 11.

Everyone can stfu about Walcott for at least one game now.

He has to be picked next game, but that will be his real test like Gooner91 says.

He was excellent and if he can play like that for England more than once every three years he'll be a big asset. I still think we're better off starting with Milner and bringing Walcott on for 25-30 minutes to run at a tired left-back.

Drop Young and Milner. Put Welbeck and Theo on the wings, have Rooney in hole and Carroll as the target man. Bring the OX on to replace Theo or Welbeck early in the second half if we lack balance.

Gerrard and Rooney clicking is essential, if they do then Ukraine are basically ****ed.

Walcott super sub <applause> One of the pundits last night suggested Walcott is better as a sub because he goes on with the freedom to have a go and play instinctively, rather than think too much as a starting player. Either way, he was great yesterday.

i would look at 3 up front of Walcott , Defoe and Wellbeck .

They would terrorise the defences at ALL times not like that pikey whose only danger is from set pieces.

Young is just not good enough.

Defoe normally does much better for england that he does for the spudz, some decent service and he could flourish.

Young is better then Walcott 1 bad game does not change that. Walcott should only be a sub player like last night.

Drop Young and Milner and start OX and Theo with Rooney and Welbeck up front, play Jones instead of Johnson

<ok> I'd go with that. Young and Milner have been crap. Oxo, Theo, Wellbeck and Rooney would be a hungry and direct combo

This is what I think also, he'll be more affective playing half the match say from 50/60 min mark. If Walcott is made to start he'll be under too much pressure to perform the way he did last night for the whole 90 mins which would be an unfair and un realistic expectation.
