Call me daft but not being biased Mary Poppins talks total bollox when it comes to football. Not a bad player but IMHO overated.
Curiously enough, I find myself in agreement with CTR on Ribery. He's like a cricketer who scores a ton every third game, but averages around 30-35. Great on his day, but too much ordinariness overall. The most overhyped IMO though, is Michael Carrick. Never understood his rating by Fergie et al.
Don't mind giving Shearer praise, however Phillips would have been in the England squad sooner and more often if it was not for the biased Geordie twat bending the managers ear.

Dunno about over rated footballer but most over rated 'hard man' must be Check Tiote with mag fans saying things like 'he's a beast' 'shirks nothing' 'a tiger in midfield'. Imagine our surprise when he turned out to be a bit of a pansy flattened by a bloke 4 ft 10.

I do think Ribery is living on past excellence. Must admit I'm surprised with people not thinking Modric is all he's billed. He runs games from start to finish and has a lot of similar qualities to Scholes. Very elegant and controls the pace of a game. I'm not convinced on Podolski despite his record. I'd pick some England players but nobody seems to rate them anyway! Pique for me is overrated. Don't get me wrong I think he is a very good defender but I think he looks half the player when he does not have Puyol directing him round the pitch. Stops him being the great defender everyone hypes him as. I think you can get at him. Robinho is a street entertainer too. He just doesn't deliver enough and can be bullied. I think the dutch team in general is overrated. They have great players in the attacking third, and I think De Jong is top class, but Van Bommel and the defenders are no great shakes. The comments on Shearer are always amusing
For the record, the Shearer/Beardsley ones I picked were done with my tongue firmly in my cheek...They were two excellent players who I have a begrudged respect for...

He if anything is vastly underrated, like most selfless players. Best diver in the league too, they all look like fouls full pace. Bravo.

Rooney, Ribery, Cech, Reina, Clichy, Milner, Balotelli, Huntelaar, Ibrahimovic, Torres, Benzema, flavour of the month Oxlade Chamberlain, Agbonlahor, Sigurdsson, Sessegnon, Klose, Lahm, Anderson, Cahill. Most overrated of the lot is arguably Petr Cech. Awful.
