Having lost out on away goals to Montenegro, I fielded a makeshift team with three uncapped players against a fairly strong Czech Republic team. We won 2-1. The project is underway to get us back to a major tournament <ok>

A couple of the old guard, like Aaron Hughes and David Healy, have retired unfortunately, but oh well.

I've been chasing this Aussie wonderkid (posted a screenshot previously) for over a year now. The first problem was that I couldn't get a work permit, so I eventually convinced the board to allow me to pick my own feeder club, and to my surprise, the Croatian team I chose accepted. Now I should be able to sign this kid without a permit, and send him out on loan to Croatia where he will stay for 2 years. That brings me to my next stumbling block: I entered straight into contract negotiations with the player as he is 17 and on a youth contract, but realised that I would have to pay a hefty fee in compensation and that I could probably get him for a lot less if I just made an offer to his club.

Anyway, because I pulled out of the original contract negotiations, the kid's agent is now saying "my client isn't currently prepared to restart these discussions following the previous breakdown in talks." How long before he will be prepared to talk? Anyone have any idea? A rather silly and unrealistic feature, this.

I had that with the CB I mentioned earlier. Talks broke down twice because the agent was asking for an agent fee higher than the board would let me give. Broke down a couple of times, the agent's opinion of me went to "Hatred" and then I couldn't offer a contract because of "breakdown in talks" despite the fact that if I told the media I wanted to sign him, he said he'd definitely be interested. It was about May that he refused to talk to me, eventually signed him in July so "breakdown in talks" lasted two months.

Usually lasts about a month until the agent lets you talk again. FYI (you probably know this anyway) when you send the kid on loan usually you can offer him contracts monthly and 90% of the time for a small pay rise he'll accept and for some reason you almost ALWAYS get a work permit and he can slot straight into your squad.

That's the exact one I have too. It overheats when I play Football Manager so I can't even get through one game without it doing it now.

When the game starts running it takes about 5-10 mins to crash. Any ideas? Should I take it to a shop and ask them to look at the fan?

Does your whole computer crash, or just FM? It might help to download BlueScreenView and Google what it says. I spent pretty much the whole of last week fixing a blue screen of death that was caused by a dodgy driver, major pain in the arse.

    Just finished my 2014-2015 season!

    My transfers

    2014-2015 table.jpg
Finished table - I went through a bad patch after being around the top two most of the season. Liverpool drew 0-0 against Man Utd on the last game of the season so I could retain my Champions League spot with me winning 3-1 away at Fulham. Very pleased.

    2014-2015 stats.jpg
Stats for the Premier League. James Forrest also got into the team of the year.

Lost in the final of the League cup to Man Utd and also got to the final of the Europa league but lost on penalties to SLB after a 0-0 draw. Heartbreaking stuff as my team deserved to win!

Going to get a new RB in the summer as well as a left back possibly. This amazing re-gen striker from Santos is finally joining after I agreed a deal when he was 16. He couldn't join until he was 18 and has got even better. Looking foward to seeing what he can do!

Wow, I didn't think anyone else owned this model. I've done so many Google searches and no one knows anything about it. The overheating problem is really annoying, but I've found a couple of ways to avoid it. Download a program called SpeedFan, which monitors the temperature of your HD and processor. You can minimize it to the taskbar and just hover over it while playing FM (if you play FM in windowed mode), and make sure you pause the game if it starts getting too high. The laptop will shut itself off when anything reaches 90C.

Another thing you can do is go into the control panel > power options > change plan settings > change advanced plan settings > processor power management, and lower the maximum processor state. I've lowered it to 80%. You'll get less power out of the processor, but it'll also remain cooler.

As for actually fixing the problem, I'd like to open the laptop up and have a look at the fan, but it seems to be put together in such a way that it's almost impossible to deconstruct it without breaking it. Even if you can get in there, according to an expert who advised me on the matter, "the only way to fix it is to take the laptop apart and re-seat the microprocessor on the heat sink with new grease". I have no idea how easy that would be, but I can't even get past the "take it apart" bit.
