The SPL are seeking clarity on the NewCo.

What the **** does that matter? Has the creation of a NewCo changed history?

The SPL are turning into an utter laughing stock.

I take it the evidence must have been damming. Would have wrecked any chances of a newco being voted back in. That's all the evidence I need for which way they plan to vote.

So football is no longer a sport now, its a game of business.

To be fair though, they've never encountered this situation before and it's not unreasonable to check out how much the previous trangressions of the liquidated club can be visited on the Newco. They should want to get this absolutely right first time and not have anything backfire on them. Having said that, however, it seems to me that nothing can be laid at the door of the Newco. The Newco should start in Div 3 and if Rangers, the liquidated club, are found guilty of fielding ineligible players through their misuse of the EBT scheme and having double contracts etc then all the titles won during that period should be stripped from Rangers, the liquidated club and awarded to the runners-up ... there's nothing else can be done to a club that doesn't exist any more.

If it's a completely new club then it's a completely new club - no history, no trophies, no punishment for something an old defunct club did.

But the old club can be found guilty and any trophies they won should be wiped off their previous history. <ghost>

    This.

Take the whole history or take none at all.

My reading of this is that they have been found guilty already.

Don't sweat it. It hasn't changed history at all. But it does mean the SPL are getting a better idea of what the new company is. Like folk here have stated. New club, new start. The findings will show it to be exactly what we say it is. A completely new club. The Exhuns have been deluding themselves (wilfully) that this is still Rangers. It aint. This will be like a slap in the face for them.

Remember that Dick who kept banging on about goodwill? He couldn't tell us what goodwill was. We told him time and again it was worthless but he wouldn't have it.........He will, I am sure, come back and apologise to each and every one of us.

This will confirm to them what we already know..... And they know it too really. Rangers are dead.

i completely agree with mick, rangers as we know it no longer exist so you cannot punish the new club for what was done by murray et al. they can however investigate it and if they are found guilty they can remove those tainted titles from old rangers.

the only sanctions they should face in my opinion are if they wish to be allowed straight back into the spl.

And that is what will happen.

If they can get their **** together, they can start a new club but they'll have to drop this stupid pretence that it is the same club. Even they don't really believe that anyway. If they can't get their **** together. Big deal. Rangers are dead anyway.

Agree Reb but can't understand why some folk are going round in circles on this. Newco -new club starting from scratch - no connection with Rangers FC who are extinct.

Curiosity got the better of me last night after this made me think of him. I found his initial response and it had more holes than swiss cheese.

Remember this is the most stupid forum on the internet<ok>.

Not so stupid this morning though.

Yeah you were right reb it was nothing like leeds. I did think at the time that was the plan but they failed to get a CVA approved so had to start again. He works at a bank as well and doesn't understand the difference between administration and liquidation. Rodney trotter springs to mind.

I don't see what the hold up is to be honest.

If OldCo Rangers used dual contracts then any titles/trophies they won should be stripped and awarded to the runners up. It's as simple as that.

New Rangers are not the same club so they cannot argue the case for OldCo Rangers to retain trophies so what exactly is the problem with continuing the investigation which started some months ago?
