Can anyone explain why Milner is anywhere near the england squad? When did he last start a game for city? Our backfour should be jags lescott cole and walker with baines on the left wing.

 

Mark Lawrenson just said Glen Johnson has been our best defender I think, if so hes officially clueless.

 

John Terry is the biggest plonker. Our frontline has been great, shocking at the back. Also somehow Parker and Gerrard have no chemistry I feel they don't link up at all.

Great game. Our defending was the polar opposite to the first game. All four were poor. Johnson made some great saving tackles and was again excellent on the cover, but his game was littered with errors. Why was he marking Mellberg though? Poor judgement in the planning to think that was a good match on dead balls. Cole was poor positionally and Terry will be exposed at some stage. Jagielka is a better option. Lescott did ok but there was no dominance from our two centre backs on dead balls.

We are still to play our strongest side for me. Milner is just in poor nick, after struggling at Man City towards the back end. He has to play centrally too but needs to come out. Ashley Young has been poor too. Gerrard and Parker don't have the legs to be all action so for me you are better off letting them sit. Then Rooney in the hole, with Walcott and Chamberlain wide. Then Carroll or Welbeck up top. I'd probably go Carroll who gave a very good account of himself.

Pleased for Hodgson. He was the right man and showed his skills and experience. He has got them playing for each other and we know better than most, it can take you a long way. I was pleased for Ibra too, the bell end.
