the ball has hardly been in our half this half and we've had so many chances..no idea why the ball isn't going in the net
Actually Mr Tiger, (that is assuming you're a Mr), i was talking about the second goal...at 0-2 there had not been a victory, since the final whistle had not yet blown.
I know. But my point was that unless the goal had come off the referee's backside, or come via an unjust penalty/etc, you can't complain. If we'd had 2 shots and you'd had 20, 30 or 40, it doesn't matter. Attempts on target or against the woodwork are meaningless statistics. Goals win games, not posession and not shots that don't go in.
Okay, fair enough. So, undeserved (in the heat of the moment from the Rookery after an incredibly frustrating afternoon), is translated now as "completely against the run of play"...happy? Though i am convinced, at times, that Hull had had something to do with the Referee's backside, though that's another story
We've had this a lot this season from fans of other teams. Our team suits a more defensive style, so we never go all out attack. We know we're not going to concede many, and that we're capable of catching teams on the counter-attack or with the odd goal nicked here or there. Even against Scunthorpe away, when we won 5-1, some of their fans were ringing the local radio station saying they'd matched us for large parts of the game. So basically, half the time it's bullshit anyway.
lol...funny, coz in the first half i'd say it was fairly even. The ball was up both ends, and but for the last 10 minutes of the half where we didn't get a look in, both sides looked equally poised to score. The second half we were dominant for huge chunks of the time, and had so many chances, we just couldn't find the back of the net. Strange that we had so many, if your defense is so strong...still, you managed to nick one against the run of play, so fair play, 3 points to you. Good luck for the rest of the season .
